  • John Hopkins created a beautiful song. Coldplay perfected it. I listen to this song almost everyday. Kudos to the both of them for creating such great music.

  • And, in the end, we lie awake and we dream of making our escape.

  • COLDPLAY I don't know if u can read this, BUT I would like to say something from the heart.

( THANKS FOR MAKING MY LIFE MORE BEAUTIFUL ).

  • HIDDEN TRACK It's Death And All of His Friends / The Escapist

  • this is life in technicolor

  • @SingerKId12 no this is a hidden track in Death and All His Friends right after it ends.

  • my entire life just flashed before me

  • AWESOME!!!!! COLDPLAY IS AWESOME!!! The charts are filled with crap, talentless, lifeless, drug takin', 'fame+party+ alcohol =my life'' types(ke$ha is worst singer there will ever be). Coldplay(and some others, like Owl City) are real talent. Their songs have meanings. They're not all about catchy tunes, and ''dance like no tomorrow' crap. Coldplay is pure talent. Coldplay forever!!

  • Viva La Vida has so many hidden tracks

  • Makes me feel like Ill be able to reunite with the family that I was taken from .

  • When this just started in my YouTube music playlist I just lost what I was doing completely... I just couldn't do it anymore. And when the song was over, it was all gone!

  • We lie awake, and we make the plans for our escape.

  • great song, but john hopkins wrote it, coldplay just wrote the vocals

  • This is beautiful! :)

  • Listen to this every night before i sleep.

  • holy shit people calm down people can interpret this song however they want and its not up to any of us to determine whats right and whats wrong lets just cool the jets bros :p

  • What an amazingly thought provoking soundscape this piece creates!!! I love you Sara Hill!!

  • it's the same as Life in Technicolor...

  • @saint1997 The same sample from the five first seconds, yes.

  • Everyone Friends who enjoy the sound of coldplay, let me speak to you and open your hearts for me. Their music is so beauiful because they have Reverance with the Lord, Our God, and Savior :) When you have reverance for The Lord your God, he will give you Wisdom and Understanding and Anything More :) Our Savior said "Ask and You Shall Recieve" :) coldplay speaks From their hearts to God Practically everySong, if you know The Lord you will Have True Happieness friends. Dont Ignore This message 2u

  • @JayBeKooLah your message really touched my heart! :)

    Greetings from Mexico! :)

  • @JayBeKooLah Don't try and bullshit us by throwing some Christian message in where there isn't any. Coldplay isn't a Christain group, and to claim you know what they believe is ignorant.

  • @UncivilDisobedience agree with you totally..get annoyed by all the christians who want to impose us to be christians too

  • @JayBeKooLah you can make good music too if you believe in the devil..thats not a question of the religion... im not against christians but im against people like you who want to will everybody to believe in god too..... in my opinion the only thing thats true in your belief that it gives you hope...but thats only a thing in your brain and not a real god who helps u ..so why dont we kept our beliefs in that places they belongs to...and thats definetely NOT youTube

  • i got goosebumps :)

  • I don't know why but this song reminds me the early mornings of the last summer ;))

  • it's hardly hidden... it follows Death and all of his friends almost immediately. Nice song though.

  • @jrb1802uk it may noy be hidden very well, but it still took me 6 months to find XD (it took me about 3 months to find 'Til Kingdom Come on X&Y)

  • @TheSimpsonsFanGirl fair enuff :)

  • @jrb1802uk haha :)

  • probably the best hidden track ever!

  • hidden, but really awesome....

  • Chris Martin and the group manage very very well for this album and that is why all the songs are all unforgettable !

  • Went from Cali. to Washington D.C. listening to this album on replay. Very fond memories I have. <3

  • This particular track was the soundtrack to one of the most exciting summers of my life, when I started climbing mountains. Such an amazing feeling to be out there and this to be the soundtrack. Thanks CP & Brian Eno.

  • This song is pure energy ... it's purity and eternity ... it's art and yet undefinable ... it's astonishing

  • @UweFinken12

couldn't have said it better. this arrangement is everything music can be. Brian Eno may have had something to do with this one...

  • fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn aowsome

  • when you listen to this press your thumbs softly against your closed eyes, to make shapes and stuff you know? it is so relaxing

  • correct me if i am wrong but i am pretty sure this is part of the song "death and all his friends" by these guys

  • its the ending to Death and All His Friends

  • When asked about the album's silly title (Viva, La Vida &...), the bare-chested fat French whore featured on the cover said that Chris Martin originally planned to name it "Big Revolutionary Tits", but when Gwyneth Paltrow got wind of the idea, she got extremely jealous (she's flat-chested, see) and forbade Chris to use it.

  • @FedorEight dirty dirty dirty dirty troll

  • @slixshoota I'm a dirty filthy ugly evil troll, and I need to be spanked! Since no-one will go near my hairy bum, I will do it myself...

Dirty filthy bad troll! Bad bad bad troll... (spanking myself right as we speak, typing with the left hand)... Bad stupid moronic troll. Bad dumb silly troll who dares desecrate talentless jet-set retards such as Chris Lennon and his nepotistic Tinseltown slut Gwyn Yoko... Bad bad ridiculously clueless troll lacking character and manners...

  • I cried

  • And...

    In the end....

We lie awake and we dream of makin' a escape.

    And...

    In the end....

We lie awake and we dream of makin' a escape.

    Oooo Ooooo Oooooo......

    Oooo Ooooo Oooooo......

  • I'll be listening to this when I die.

  • @jprg12 lol me too. i like it alot.

  • @jprg12 that's exactly what I thought when I heard this!!

  • It's like track 1, but better :)

  • What a calming tune. I think ill listen to this again.

  • If you like this tune, then you should check out the original 'Jon Hopkins : Light Through The Veins' which Coldplay sampled. Both great tunes!!

  • Coldplay one of the best bands ever!!!.....especially in their own genre but even across all other genres they are one of the best ever!

  • im flyin aaaaaaaaaaa luv this song

  • And in the end we lie awake and we dream of making our escape

  • All their songs are so perfect.

  • great to drop some LSD

  • @117tree SHUT UP FAGGOT

  • @ILCLDPLY be nice

  • in the end we will remember the good and bad memories of our lives =)

  • This song reminds me of the last day of college just before christmas of 2009 when i got stuck at college we travel on coach home at 6:30pm and remember that day ever since because of this song :)

  • i would wish coldplay made a video, just at beautifull as the song :)

Ive listened to this song (Death and all his friends) over 230 times on Itunes :D

  • ¡Viva La Vida! Y

    ¡Viva Coldplay!

  • this song takes you to other worlds

  • this fits exactly with Death and all his friends...it's like the second part of the song

  • And when i have kids i want them to listen to Coldplay. And make a impact just as big in there life as it did mine.

  • thatboysalv is extremely smart, i agree 100% with him. Chris Martin used to be an English tough guy. And now he is really giving and good person. So he writes these songs to help other people notice the good things in life. Truly Coldplay is one of my best influences. And my favorite band. And a lot of Rap brings out the more bad side of you. It talks about drugs, killing, gangs etc. If you like Rap i have no problem, but i don't because of those things.

  • i lay there totally speechless as the sound of the music washes over me, making me feel as though i was bathing in a warm light that fills me with hope and wellbeing, theres nothing here but me theres noonne here but me, my world is so much smaller now, and im happy.

I close my eyes as the music is playing to see myself floating amongst the clouds with an almost etheral feeling, im in bliss.

thats just how i felt X'D

  • And in the end we're lying awake and we dream were making our escape.

  • Manic depression and surrealistic elation all at the same time! It's like time moves at the speed of cool honey when listening to this track. Now my feet won't touch the ground. Magic!

  • This is a great song! I agree with everyone!

  • this was made by jon hopkins but the sencond vers by coldplay.

  • this song is too short Dx ...I have to loop this song all over because I ca'nt get enough of it.

  • Kind of reminds me of a Boards of Canada song.

  • @derekxnl how does this remind you of boards of canada, and which song?

  • hitchiker's guide to the galaxy..dont panic. 42. this song is good too

  • What a truly truly Beautiful Coldplay song its full of sadness but at the end of the light there is always hope =) i dont care if people say Coldplay are pop/mainstream becuase they are in touch with art and what it means to be human LONG LIVE COLDPLAYS , RADIOHEADS AND NICK DRAKES MUSIC! by the way chech out "From the Morning" by nick drake another heart dream of a song ! :P

  • @MusicisLife373 You encapsulated the reason why I love Coldplays music in your comment.

I urge you to check my covers out on my channel, I am a proffesional cover artist for Coldplay, I swear you will not regret listening to my covers, I do requests too.

    Have a great week.

  • @MusicisLife373 Check my 'life in technicolor ii' cover - its a video response to this video, leave a comment and be honest.

  • I like coldplay they saty true to who they are. Like Christ Matin said before we dont writ about hoes and pimps in the streets of Compton because that is not what we know. I think it takes a level of purity and honesty to write about your feelings as oppose to being iced out and bitches jocking you. Their music has substance.

  • The first version of this song was made by Jon Hopkins

    "Light through the veins"

As Coldplay realized the beauty of this song they cooperated with Hopkins and made their version ... still they didn't change any of the songs beauty and supported the tune with their perfect additions

  • During the day, I see the glowing warm sun. At night I see the stars, in all their magical splendour.

  • this song is actually a short edit of jon hopkins - light through veins with vocals over it (assuming they are coldplay's) - check out jon hopkins other music too...

  • There had never been and will probably never be again a song that impacted me so intensely as this one.

It is the closest thing I've ever heard to musical perfection.

  • So much energy flying around ... this song catches it ... this song includes all of the worlds energy ... lovely song ... my favourite song ever ...

  • Anybody noticed the reference to The Beatles in this song? Song "The End" by The Beatles says: "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make". Coldplay sings "And in the end, we lie awake and we dream of making escape". To me, this clearly rhymes..

  • @Redoxown22: thats exactly how i feel

  • This is the song i want to hear when i die.

  • @thatboysalv. There are many people just like u.. im one haa

  • this song makes me want to lie awake all night looking at the universe.

  • Amazing!! Whenever I listen to the melody it invades me happiness and sadness at the same time, is a marvel this song as all the Coldplay's songs, but this one invites me to fly and go to a place where nothing can be bad, and thrills me up to the tears.

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing!!

  • I miss you, Kate!

  • I always listen to this song (Death and all his friends + this) on my iPod when im out walking with my dog. It's such a beautiful song, and it gets more beautiful at sunset :)

  • Comment removed

  • @max1997monoman, you can find thus song a few minutes into "Death and All of His Friends", the last song on the album.

  • i get high to this and mind myself in utopia. sounds like stoner cliche, but Coldplay is more than just a band - they're an entire movement. i truely believe that if the entire world sat back and listened to their music, it would be a better place.

  • @thatboysalv well spoken m8

  • @thatboysalv there was a time from the 60's to the 90's where that would actually happen and it brought different worlds of cultures together

  • @thatboysalv I would say it is quite funny that you chose to comment on this specific song, since it is the only Coldplay-song that I know of which is solely composed by another artist. It really is a cover of an instrumental, but they have added lyrics.

Still, "The Escapist" is amazing. To be fair, the original; "Light Throught the Veins" by Jon Hopkins, is just as stunningly pacififying - check it out.

(Yes, I am aware that Jon Hopkins is Coldplay's producer and that this song was a gift.)

  • @thatboysalv id rather listen to Jon Hopkins, who made the ambient texture for this track. Vocals make me angry and uptight, i dislike humanistic elements in music

  • how does it can be discovered???

  • i fall asleep to this song so chill and mello

  • Gives me chills.

  • And....

    in the end

    we lie awake...

and we dream of making our escape...

    I miss you...

  • they opened with this on the viva la vida tour, straight into life in technicolor instrumental, then encored life in technicolor ii with lyrics to end it...EPIC

  • half of it is of Jon Hopkins.

  • this made me cry, it lifts you from the ground...absolutely breathtaking!

  • This is possibly the most beautiful conclusion to any album to date.

  • @newrev9er I think it's great, but A Day in the Life, from Sgt. Peppers, by The Beatles will be always the best!

  • @FriedChickenofDeath6 whoa! Before I saw what you wrote I was going to post the same thing! This is one of the best endings to an album I've heard, but Sgt. Pepper's 'A Day In The Life' is lightyears ahead of any other album ending.

  • @rab2591 HELLYEAH! BEATLES AND COLDPLAY RULE!

  • is this supposed to be hidden? i thought it was just part of death and all his friends, there's only a few seconds of silence between them...

  • I love this song. It sounds so... healing.

  • @jaydahsxcreator

Ahhhhh, sorry, I thumbs downed you. Didn't mean to. I meant to give you a 'thumbs up' but, clicked wrong. You are soooo right. This song is almost better than medicine.

  • @fatfishy888 Don't worry about it. ^^

  • @jaydahsxcreator Dont worry man. I Thumbed up you!

  • nothing's hidden.

  • Maybe i'll end the year playing this song...And start the new year with Disc 1 Track 1.

  • to kingdom come was also a hidden track and an original johhny cash song on their last album, this is most certainly not hidden

  • @cavmusicnyc well I'm glad we found to kingdom come. its my fav!!! XD

  • its like a conclusion

  • LOL @ hidden track! muppet. The album begins with a sample of John Hopkins - light through the veins and fades the end of the album out with it......... thats it! nothing more and nothing less. How we see the world was a hidden track on the jap cut of x & y but thats it

  • that´s because this is the end of the CD but it is also the last part of death and all his friends.

they just don´t play this life because people will think the show is over:P

  • this is just the last part of death and all his friends

  • No, it's a hidden track. :-)

  • It isn't part of death and all his friends. Its has nothing to do with the song. Watch death and all his friends live and you'll see this track is missing.

  • I suppose this explains why they didn't play this bit in their lives shows as it's not supposed to be part of the song.

  • Jon Hopkins provided Coldplay the sample for this and life in technicolor when he helped co-produce the album. If you wanna hear the entire song, here's the link:

    watch?v=bazz7A_tD0g

  • We lie awake and we dream of making our escape... Just dream. Never do.

  • But isn't that the whole point? Sure, maybe(whoever this song's about) might never escape, but the thing is to actually dream it, to know that it's possible and to have hope. To live in the moment and not waste a second.

  • And how do you know it's possible? For most people it's not...

  • This is just the icing on the cake after "Death and all his friends"

  • Is this at the end of Death and All of His Friends?

  • this is at the end of death and all his friends. it is not a hidden song. if you listen to death and all his friends you hear at the end on the cd.

  • oh my god. This song is perfect, it sums up every aspect of life, and everything beautiful in the world. It makes me shiver. It is epic and i cant stop listening to it. No matter what has happened this song can take you away to a different place and i cry ever time i listen I LOVE COLDPLAY SO MUCH.

  • look up jon hopkins - light through

  • hopkins made it after coldplays sample :P

  • the other way around mate

  • I have, i knew about it

  • im with you you took the meaning right out of my mouth i love coldplay sooo much

  • lol,

you HavE heard the other song of coldplay, which is sorta a more complete version of this right ?

    Life In Technicolour

  • Im obsessed with colplay haha :) you mean life in technicolour 1& 2 ;) I LOVE COLDPLAY SO UNBELEIVEABLY MUCH <3 12/9.09 best day of my liiife xxx

  • this aint hidden

  • It technically is. It's not listed as a song on the sleeve, so it is.

  • Its part of track 10 - Death and all of His Friends.

Good way of getting views though, posting it as a "hidden track".

  • The beggining of this song and background is the same as Life in Technicolor

  • what is different?

    i thought its fully same...

  • i like when chris goes ooooooooooooooh ohhhhhhhhhhh ooooooooooooh, just so relaxing

  • I know!! It's beautiful, isn't it?

  • It's a wonderful song I love it ..it's peaceful and great...Coldplay plays it good <3

  • i love this song because the end of this song is the beginning of the first song.

    its a never ending cycle.

    :]

  • it's the same sound in the begin of life in technicolor ( the first version )

  • "And in the end, we lie awake, and we dream of making our escape..."

    epicly beautiful <3

  • This isn't a hidden track though. this audio is the end of Death and all of his friends. it's not a separated song.

  • This song isn't listed in the sleeve. Therefore, it is. Just like how Chinese Sleep Chant is placed at the end of Yes.

  • jon hopkins deserves more credit for doing this.

    light through the veins.

    Awsome song.

  • uhh this is the end of death and all his friends its supposed to be the beginning of life in technicolor....like the whole album is a circle......

  • whats the beggining of viva la vida and end of it

  • it's so poetic.. if you think about this cd being a circle and it's called viva la vida.. like life is some kind of circle too. like that idea
