1. Will a regular mac OS recognize a touch screen laptop like a lenovo think pad? Or will it need a specific operating system like the ipad OS?

2. I know that the Mac OS work with the Pentium 4, AMD, Core2 & i7 processors, with generally no problems (though Intel chips are recommended for better support) and there tend to be some issues with chipsets, but would I need any other hardware specifics like different cooling system or will the current hardware handle it ok?

To people who have questions concerning processors:

OSX will run on ANY core system. AKA, Core duo, Core i5, etc. I've heard stories of a pentium as well.

It will run on some AMD CPU's, but it needs to have SSE2/3/4 support.

Your graphics card isn't supported, but it should run.

Note that there will not be QE/GL support. Meaning front row will not run, nor will you experience flawless graphics.

Hey i've got an hp pavillion dv97000

I installed osx fine once but then erased my parition and tried again. Now it won't install past 1/8th of the install bar. It just stops moving. I've tried alot of the video drivers like the NVdarwin 512 and the NVgo I think. Both have the same lock up. What would you pick for drivers? Thanks.

If you bought a PC at the price of a Mac, it would blow the mac out of the water. Macs are way overpriced. You can get a PC with 8gb of ram and a 1gb video card for the price of a mac. It's just "logic" unlike your motherboard.

i have a dv6000 with turion 64x2 and i have ipc 10.5.6 final and i have my boot order to my drive first but when i start up my computer it starts with hp screen then goes to blank screen with a little tiny flashing bar in the top left corner(like it wants me to type something) and it stays like that for about 10-15 seconds and then just starts up my windows like normal. I burned the dvd at 2.4x. i dont know what i'm doing wrong.

best thing would be a DV5-1139tx ish, main reason is pretty much identicle hardware for around half the price, so almost everything works w/o a problem, except wireless adapters arnt combatible, but there may be a way to fix that, if ur a linux programmer try ur luck with it :P any way price for dv5-1139tx is about $2200 AU, but you can get brand new for about $1700 AU wholesale, compared to the macbook pro which retails at about $2699 AU, and i thinks its illegal to wholesale? no idea bout that
