Kareem had the length, MJ had the athletisim, Duncan has the fundamentals etc, etc. Every great player has something that standout and Shaqs was his size and ability to dominate with it. And yes trading Shaq was smart at that time. He was turning 29 and was already 12 years in the league with Kobe still being young, it was a smart move.
