@my73737373 You should stop running your lipo as soon as you notice a dramatic decrease in performance. That is about the time that they are going to hit low voltage.
whats teh difference in cut off voltage and auto lipo cut off voltage.. im running 2s 7.4 volt lipos... and if i used 6v volt voltage cut off .. would that drain the 2 cells to 3.0..? being safe.in mind . put it on auto lipo cut off volt /cell setting and put it at 3.5v per cell ?
@specialformula14 you should be able to either use one or the other. If you choose not to go lower than 3.2v/cell then you have the ability to set it.
@scootersound There are a few ways to waterproof your esc. Most applications will void your warranty. I've seen Ultimate RC's video on building a box and using liquid rubber for a sealant. check it out.
For the Voltage cut off , I'm confused. I read the manual which confused me. If I'm running a 2s 5000mah and 3s mah Lipo what should I set the voltage cut off at ?
Thanks I'm going to order one of these tonight:) was looking for a video that confirmed that you plug both USB and controller cables in to program the esc.
@coleryanvivian timing can feel more like turbo, but be cautious of motor temps when setting this feature. I would start with a lower tooth pinion and go up one setting at a time to find the sweet spot at a safe temp. good luck!
@coleryanvivian what are your motor temperature at now after running. Do you race or bash? You never want to go above 160 degrees on the motor. You can mess around with it and can only tell by motor temps. I like to keep my motor temps at 150 degrees after most 7 minute races.
@wewex7 Those are TRUE RC Batteries. They are known to have the longest run times. You can buy them from TRUERC.com..Prices depend on how many MAH you want 8000mah are the longest run times. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
@SelectRCdotcom Thanks for the replay, i checked out the website and it looks like a good deal,i bought some Maxamps batteries last week infact i should get them today, the batteries i bought are 9000 MAH and the cost about $30-$40 bucks more each.and it say's the run time is about 54 minutes you think the maxamps are better or should i buy these? i'm asking this because i want to buy more batteries.
thank you for posting this vid. i have a duratrax evader ext2 and was thinking of going to a brushless system and was looking at the sidewinder but where can i find the system for cheap. please help
I bought the new Axial AE-2 ESC from Castle Creations and i was wondering the field link card would work on the AE-2 ESC for doing the set up that i want?
So far the only way I can get my RC18B to go max speed is if I crank up the throttle trim. But then There's no way to stop. Unless I crank the throttle trim down. Do I need the Castle link card to make this work normally for me? Or do I need to "Gear Up"
@tekren6 try to use a higher tooth pinion and smaller tooth spur gear. Watch your temps as the RC18B is know to run stock with brushed motors. You can also get higher discharge lipo batteries. Do you have the stock remote? I have the RC18B and SC18 there is a knob for throttle for low and high gear.
@SelectRCdotcom I'm running a Mamba Micro Pro with my RC18B. And trying to calibrate it manually is far too difficult. I'm only 1 month new again to the hobby. I'm lucky to have it running. I sure get a kick out of it. My Slash 4x4 was programmed by my dealer. It's off the chart!
I am deciding on the mamba max pro 5700 setup for my slash 4x4. Would I benefit from going to the mamba monster pro? Will the motor and everything line set up the same?
Soooo tired of the vxl speed control, ive gone through 2 in less than 6 months. Not to mention the regular shutdowns on 3s. Im going to send it in again, and buy a castle creations. I'll save the vxl when it gets back for winter conditions.
@dsmdeegen Yes it should be a direct fit. The mamba pro comes with the fan and is 6S compatible, but the motor is 3S. My fan has yet to turn on which means the esc will not shut off like the VXL. I would get the Mamba Pro for a little extra. Gear down on pinion and higher on Spur 16-18 pinion /90 Spur.
Picked one up today. Great item to have. Lowered my motor temp by over 30degrees much better performance on track now

Wouldn't a voltage cut off lower than 3.5v per cell damage a lipo?
my73737373 2 months ago
@my73737373 no less than 3.0v per cell would damage the lipo
