  • Picked one up today. Great item to have. Lowered my motor temp by over 30degrees much better performance on track now

  • Wouldn't a voltage cut off lower than 3.5v per cell damage a lipo?

  • @my73737373 no less than 3.0v per cell would damage the lipo

  • @my73737373 You should stop running your lipo as soon as you notice a dramatic decrease in performance. That is about the time that they are going to hit low voltage.

  • whats teh difference in cut off voltage and auto lipo cut off voltage.. im running 2s 7.4 volt lipos... and if i used 6v volt voltage cut off .. would that drain the 2 cells to 3.0..? being safe.in mind . put it on auto lipo cut off volt /cell setting and put it at 3.5v per cell ?

am i understanding this correct ?

  • @specialformula14 you should be able to either use one or the other. If you choose not to go lower than 3.2v/cell then you have the ability to set it.

  • Excellent! Buying one right now... Do you water-proof your esc? If so how do you do it??

  • @scootersound There are a few ways to waterproof your esc. Most applications will void your warranty. I've seen Ultimate RC's video on building a box and using liquid rubber for a sealant. check it out.

  • Great video, very helpful!

  • For the Voltage cut off , I'm confused. I read the manual which confused me. If I'm running a 2s 5000mah and 3s mah Lipo what should I set the voltage cut off at ?

  • @Lenny7118 I would recommend 1.) Auto Lipo and 2.) 3.1V.

  • Great vid

  • Great video

  • Just received mine 2day. Wondering how to use it. YouTube always to the rescue. =} Great vid. Do u have a vid for the PC USB.

  • Thanks I'm going to order one of these tonight:) was looking for a video that confirmed that you plug both USB and controller cables in to program the esc.

  • i mostly bash and i norily just fell the motor to see how hot it is but some time i race my buddys well what seting do you got yours on

  • @coleryanvivian i keep mine on normal.

  • heyt what is the motor timeing cheat thang what do i set it at

  • @coleryanvivian timing can feel more like turbo, but be cautious of motor temps when setting this feature. I would start with a lower tooth pinion and go up one setting at a time to find the sweet spot at a safe temp. good luck!

  • @SelectRCdotcom well what seting would you say to go with

  • @coleryanvivian what are your motor temperature at now after running. Do you race or bash? You never want to go above 160 degrees on the motor. You can mess around with it and can only tell by motor temps. I like to keep my motor temps at 150 degrees after most 7 minute races.

  • what kind of betteries are those purple batteries? and how much?

  • @wewex7 Those are TRUE RC Batteries. They are known to have the longest run times. You can buy them from TRUERC.com..Prices depend on how many MAH you want 8000mah are the longest run times. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  • @SelectRCdotcom Thanks for the replay, i checked out the website and it looks like a good deal,i bought some Maxamps batteries last week infact i should get them today, the batteries i bought are 9000 MAH and the cost about $30-$40 bucks more each.and it say's the run time is about 54 minutes you think the maxamps are better or should i buy these? i'm asking this because i want to buy more batteries.

  • @wewex7 Its really up to you just remember that weight also comes along with these size batteries..

  • @SelectRCdotcom Got it.Thanks allot.

  • Thank you for the vid thumbs up I favored it I hope to get a combo like it I found this helpful

  • hey man where do u buy those lipos from. and also how much is the field link card

  • @TraxxasNoobie TrueRC.com and field link cards can run about $29.

  • thank you for posting this vid. i have a duratrax evader ext2 and was thinking of going to a brushless system and was looking at the sidewinder but where can i find the system for cheap. please help

  • I bought the new Axial AE-2 ESC from Castle Creations and i was wondering the field link card would work on the AE-2 ESC for doing the set up that i want?

  • @aaronbelone if its a Castle ESC it should be compatible.

  • hi! i want to know that, is this field card can use in new sidewinder sct 3800kv motor combo?

  • oh and i didnt reely understand how u hooked up the card to the rc exactly

  • my local hobby shop rips me off lol

  • @MsPowerade123 Sorry to hear..

  • @SelectRCdotcom You want to connect the throttle lead from the ESC into the side of the Field Link card.

  • @MsPowerade123 same hahaa

  • Will it work on the 2200 kv mmm the one that comes in e revo?

  • @Granster5285 Its the ESC that it programs the motor really doesn't make a difference.

  • an rtr truck do you think that wood be good strate out the box coment back piz

  • @5372john absolutely!

  • @SelectRCdotcom wot about the savage flux 2350

  • @SelectRCdotcom wot about thesavage flux 2350

  • @5372john even better! You need to get that today! :C)

  • will the link card work with the mamba max pro system... reply plz

  • @1214wow absolutely!

  • @SelectRCdotcom Thanks!

  • So far the only way I can get my RC18B to go max speed is if I crank up the throttle trim. But then There's no way to stop. Unless I crank the throttle trim down. Do I need the Castle link card to make this work normally for me? Or do I need to "Gear Up"

  • @tekren6 try to use a higher tooth pinion and smaller tooth spur gear. Watch your temps as the RC18B is know to run stock with brushed motors. You can also get higher discharge lipo batteries. Do you have the stock remote? I have the RC18B and SC18 there is a knob for throttle for low and high gear.

  • @tekren6 The RC18B is known to run hot with stock brushed motors.

  • @SelectRCdotcom I'm running a Mamba Micro Pro with my RC18B. And trying to calibrate it manually is far too difficult. I'm only 1 month new again to the hobby. I'm lucky to have it running. I sure get a kick out of it. My Slash 4x4 was programmed by my dealer. It's off the chart!

  • I am deciding on the mamba max pro 5700 setup for my slash 4x4. Would I benefit from going to the mamba monster pro? Will the motor and everything line set up the same?

Soooo tired of the vxl speed control, ive gone through 2 in less than 6 months. Not to mention the regular shutdowns on 3s. Im going to send it in again, and buy a castle creations. I'll save the vxl when it gets back for winter conditions.

  • @dsmdeegen Yes it should be a direct fit. The mamba pro comes with the fan and is 6S compatible, but the motor is 3S. My fan has yet to turn on which means the esc will not shut off like the VXL. I would get the Mamba Pro for a little extra. Gear down on pinion and higher on Spur 16-18 pinion /90 Spur.

  • what is your gearing in your slash??

  • @kabe628 anywhere from 16-18 pinion and 90 tooth spur. 18 pinion with 2s and 16 with 3s.

  • i would have to go to college to learn how to work that lol

  • @MrWelch313 lmao

  • UPDATE: Make sure you turn off the ESC first then disconnect the throttle lead.

  • Hey''how much did the field link cost for you and how fast do you think you go with all advanced settings set.

  • @RadioControlVideo Thanks RCV - We will keep'em coming!

  • Nice vid, thanx Blaze
