There are other methods; this is just the simplest one.

It's piece of metal that wraps around your torso and the rope is attached to it. the rope also splits about mid-way through so that a nose can go around his neck. Which isn't tight at all. The entire contraption is small enough to hide underneath his clothes.

I do find football quite entertaining but I prefer futbol better.
