I've seen your video with you tt-01 in a parking garage. I want to buy next week a 5.5T or 8.5T but i've been told that the 5.5t will destroy my plastic gears..
Do you have any problems with the 5.5t in your tt-01?
@Dudel24 depend on how you are going to use it, if you are using it for track racing with grippy rubber tires, it will destroy the gears. if you are using it for drifting then its perfectly fine.
@TeamLockOn jo man i have a ezrun moter and esc and now mt traxxas slash a.k.a. nitro eater has launch control fucking perfect i am so happy just wanna share that
@Dudel24 You Can Also Get Less Pitched Gears. Like 48 Pitch Or 32 Pitch. Their Much Stronger. Most Cars Come With 64 Pitch Because Its A Very Smooth And An Efficient Mesh. But If You Have Power To Spare Then 64 Pitch Is Definitely Not Needed ;)
Currently, the modification on my tt-01 is similiar to the yeah racing conversion kit, its just that I bought different parts separately so i have a mix of items from Tamiya, 3racing, YeahRaching and TRG
I also have the graphite conversion kit from 3racing
@Electroz89 all i did was stuff the standard diff with tissues bits and tire glue and just let it dry. Then tada u got a locked diff
I dont think the stock diff will break, from my experience its the gear between the diff and the drive-shaft that will slip if you accelerate too aggressively. If you drive it smootly it will be alright.
The surface in this video was very slippery. In the proper track with tarmac, there is no way i can slide with rubber tires. The diff gears will quickly wear down
I placed 2 locked diff for the front and rear, making it like a 4wd. as for the top speed, i used the standard spur gear so the gear ratio is pretty high
@TeamLockOn i have got a stadium truck and a short course truck and been wanting to run brushless esc and motor im running 7.4 lipo on both right now and they run good but wanting a little more speed what do you suggest
overall the package is worth it, i just lowered my gearing to 58 spur/ 22 pinion seems about just right. but i have to warn you, it does drain the battery real quick. im getting about 20mins runtime now. hope it helps
Hello guys i have a stock TT-01D and i bought a 5.5T Ezrun combo What should I watch my car is stock gears 61Τ/19Τ thank you

You really shout be using a higher torque motor for drifting. You dont need a high speed motor for that. Shouldve gotten a 13.5t instead

@TeamLockOn
I got a Yeah Racing conversion kit myself
but haven't changed the diffs
I'm getting the EZRun 5.5t combo, but the local shop told me that i should change to Ball diff because the stock one will break
i asked about the locking diff but they said it's One-Way only (No Reverse)
is it the same way with your RC? if no, could you please recommend me one to get?

Thanks to your video, this has gave me a boost on concerning getting this motor combo.
Are you running a solid axle? front or rear or both?
also, how do you limit your top speed limit so it could drift well?

what upgrades do i need to get for my stock tt01e if im going brushless?please help me..thanks :-)
traxxasboy101 2 years ago
the most basic thing you should upgrade on your car should be metal bearings and a alloy driveshaft. then you can upgrade the esc and motor.
