great cover, just one tip though, if you play a rim shot for the back beat you will get a much greater difference in sound and volume between the back beat and the ghost notes, don't take my word for it though this is what Chad (and many other drummers) do all the time, it will make a huge difference with your "funk" drumming

It's good playing, I just don't like the lack of expression on your face and the fact that you look uncomfortable while play. For example your arm is up too high while hitting the hats, you need to relax a bit more :)

Also it seems you lift the stick too much after hitting something. I think you would be a better player if you started relaxing more. I know everyone has their own style, and this is yours, I just think that you would benefit more if you started relaxing more :)

Nice man, I've seen a lot of people trying to play chad smith's songs, and the thing is that he's got such a unique style, even though it may be not hard in theory, but to sound like him you gotta learn his style, like his hi hat technique and left foot, it's what makes it sounds so groovy. And even though i don't like rhcp much, I always tell my students to pay attention to chad smith's playing. You nailed it
