  • Maybe add a touch of gain, some delay and maybe a little more bass and it will be perfect!

  • 6 months WOW/ good

  • really, but as all the others say, a little bends and it will sound awesome. and 1 more thing, try to changea position.

  • hi john this is randy guitarist of crowned plaza hotel shanghai pls call me heres my no.00971503017764 im here in dubai ryt now im using the youtube ad of my friend since i dont have it.take good care always

  • You must enter the amazing world of bending! Nice start!

  • continue playing in clean tone, if you learn playing clean you learn playing dirty.

your ideas were not so bad at all!

  • for 6 months i found this actually very good. not many people playing 6 months really come close to playing stuff like this. A tip i have is that bends work VERY well in blues solos, so if you practice those and include those in your solos it will sound really good :) nice job man!

  • Thanks for the good words. A year plus later on, I'm hoping to get out a much better version. Practice, practice, practice...

  • you got the right idea man! Keep up the good work!

  • you arent very good im probably better

  • Who bloody well cares

  • Not bad at all.

Not sure how much more comfortable you've gotten with the guitar since you posted this video, but my advice to you:

Don't rush. It might sound a bit, silly and unhelpful, but it's something I've found useful for practice sessions. Stay on one note untill it sounds just right, and don't be afraid of leaving a little space between the notes. It adds character and enables you do catch your breath before you go at it again.

    Keep on playing :)

  • very nice solo but i think that it would sound better with more distortion u know!!!!

  • that was a good start dude - and the good thing is, the better you get the faster things come together.

i would advise two things that realy gave me a boost. one is different picking strength - like maybe every now and again pick really hard, and other times pick soft. the other is pauses. you know, some times let a note ring for a while. your getting it tho dude.

  • Thanks for the props - all of you; I appreciate the advice.

Been putting all the pointers here to some practice and hope to release some more recent footage over the same backing track soon.

  • Hey man, great early effort (and great lookin strat). Might I suggest playing around with timing of your phrases, mix them up a touch more when more comfortable. Also try to get a little more legato for the blues and definitely learn to bend as well as you can as soon as you can. But sounding much better than I used to

    :)

  • not bad^^...better then me ;)

    dont find the track...:/

  • all you really have to do to sound better is to not be so stiff and get into the music more. good job

  • Wit all honesty dude i was much better at improvising after playing only 6 months. ... add more bends and slur a lil, hammer ons and pulloffs. A few of those notes were in the wrong key. Add more emotion its a lil 2 repetitive. But keep it up. we all started somewhere

  • hey dude. 6 months isnt long at all

if you look at it one way

youll be twice as good in half a year

    so keep it up dude

  • For 6 months, it's great. I'd have to agree with ddv13devo, in that you could work on vibrato. Vibrato first, then move on to throwing a couple bends in there (bend to your desired note instead of shifting). Once you get the feel, try bending WITH vibrato, but don't speed up your solo or add too many notes (in other words, perfect what few notes you have before adding any more). Otherwise, put your guitar on your right leg; you might find it more comfortable for your blues. Best wishes.

  • You certainly know your way around the major and pentatonic scales. I'd start working in more bends and vibrato to and keep it lively while you're holding notes. Also, you'll want to switch the guitar to your right knee; playing with the guitar on the left knee lends more to classical technique (ie. finger picking). For rock guitar, however, quick wrist action is desired, so the less your arm is extended, the more emphasis is placed on the wrist. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

  • for 6 months you a awsome dude , keep it up i to like jody , and play allong with his jams ,im trying to incorpoate the chromatic scale he shows , keep up the good work .tim

  • It's very stiff, and you're quite a bit off rhythm. Keep up the practice. =)

  • Yeah, I know...very choppy. Practice, practice, practice!
