Don't know who he's talking about, watched baseball for one season when I was 15, and I find this funny. You either get it or you don't, being able to relate or knowing the context is icing on the cake.
Not too bad, I laughed loudly at one point. I knew the jist of who he was talking about but regardless if you know what he's talking about, he did perform the joke well
Damn there was nothing like being a kid on a summer day, and just kicking back watching Harry Caray call a game at Wrigley Field. Except actually being at Wrigley Field. Andre Dawson, Ryne Sandberg, Harry caray. Those were the fuckin days.
@sillyhatday yeah just the people who really know about baseball know the things that are going on between the hitting and catching! youre probably one of those who only watch where the ball is at during a game check the other players you might be surprised by what they have going on! oh and if its so boring who can it come to be Americas favorite pastime?
@lostcause31 ha you attacked the less important point on my arguement! even when its not the most favorite sport is still the most profitable one which it means that attracts more people and their money!
@lostcause31 WHAT? are you serious? if theres so much money then why are they protesting and probably wont play the super bowl next year? You dont even know who big the major leagues are, they have winter tournaments overseas! where is football? just America and Canada thats about it
@takegangsta Football is in europe too sport, it is also quite large in australia (relatively). They're having an issue with football BECAUSE the owners are trying to get more money it is this thing called greed. As previously stated an IOTA of research would lead you to know that 20 of the 25 most valuable FRANCHISES in ALL the world are American Football teams. Also I don't know where you seem to think they will not play a superbowl next year but smart money is on them not even missing a game.
@lostcause31 mmm no buddy, its not called football its called rugby, different sports! and yes thats what everybody is talking about no super bowl next year not even a season! i dont even know what an IOTA research is so im not even going to worry about it so why dont YOU go and make a research! and the problem about football is that the coaches think that theyre not getting enough money!
@lostcause31 FC Barcelona is the worlds most richest franchise in all of professional sports [in terms of revenue]. just a little fun fact. has no impact on you argument at all.
@Alucard20039 Indeed however total worth > Revenue. Add in the fact that while they're #1 in revenue perhaps they're #25 or so in total worth whereas there are 20ish American football teams ahead of them.
@lostcause31 im just gonna take a stab here perhaps you will correct me if im wrong. um reason why i think the football teams total worth is greater is because the players are WAY overpaid....i mean futbol (soccer) players however actually get paid on there ability....and also if they dont play (injury, suspension, etc) they do not get paid because their contracts are on a X amount per game played over the next Y years.
@Alucard20039 Overpaid is a relative term. While I do agree that superstars are overpaid they are the "draw". Also chances are that football teams are worth more due to their larger markets in essence. Since USA=EU basically. A LOT Less teams in football, also less leagues etc which leads to a stockpile of talent/fans. Also chances are EU football players get paid when injured as well though I can't confirm that without seeing contracts. Generally its a reduced rate ETC.
@sillyhatday Almost every sport is boring if you think about it simple. You thought of baseball simple (I'm not a baseball fan.) But when you think of soccer, you don't think simple, you think tactics, teamplay and everything. It's just the same in every ball sport :) I've played soccer for ten years so don't missunderstand me :)
@TheLaughFactory That's true "There is no sports event like Opening Day of baseball" because you know that you are in for 162 boring games of guys stretching for a minute before throwing the ball. Not that fun of a sport. "Baseball is 1 strike away from being soccer" -Daniel Tosh (Happy Thoughts)
@ethan1336 Are you sure? The Ferrell Harry Caray skits started even before Caray died, and that was in '98. As for this guy, he sounds less like Caray than like a pitch-perfect imiatation of Ferrell doing Caray--the real man's voice was a bit deeper, not as deep as John Madden, but getting there.
