Yes and no. Singer Andy Klein is part of my main project, FlagstaffJazz, flagstaffjazz(dot)ch. We're playing live quite often.
I met Pat in a series of jam-sessions in 07/08. Then we made a couple of YT-Vids, just for fun. Then Angèle Thijs, the other Flagstaff-singer, joined us, now Andy, too. Altough we've been on stages togehter on different occasions, there has not been a trio so far. What is planned is a trio with Pat, Angèle and me. We're looking for gigs under the name of "Thijs Again".
A lovely rendition. I'm the niece of Walter Gross, who wrote the music. FYI, he had no middle name. Wikipedia was wrong (I corrected it.) "Walter Lloyd Gross" is on a list at the Library of Congress; he published two books on shorthand transcription. Uncle Walter used the middle initial "K" ; K stood for "Kalish," his birth father's name. His mother's 2nd husband, William Gross, adopted him; hence the name Walter Gross.
Fantastic, interpretation of a great Standard, love the rhythm change Idea, good vocals, great solo in 3/4 time by Pat and fantastic tight trio playing, not missing the drums at all, sorry for the drummers in the house,LOL, what a joy listening to this, greetings Vic.
Dankjewel, Vic. I don't know why, but I allways find myself in these drum-free settings, alltough I love good drummers. By the way: What's the difference between a bass-player and a drummer? - Half a measure! ;-) Jogi
Lovely madness.
