I invented thees.....if u leave more paper in the middle u can put it on the tip of a pencil or something and blow at it to make it spin around like a merry go round ...its really cool...ive made 16 in one piece of paper each crane was around one square inch.
uhm..If you make a wish about a person when you make these, do you have to give it to that person? oh and i heard about that story too, i thought that was really sad, i heard it in 4th grade, that just made me sad the rest of the day after my teacher told us about it :(
Japan after world war two's bombing she was infected with a radiation disease and made one set of one thousand origami cranes and was on her second set and almost done but died unfortunately due the the radiation exceedingly taking over her body but her friends and others joins and made a lot more sets of cranes to commemorate her death.

Guys...
My Uncle told me that when you folded 1000 paper cranes you must make a wish and it must be granted ;)
It was from the Japanese mythology and traditional thingy thingy :D
Thumbs up! please... to improve that the girl was brought to heaven because paper cranes means PEACE and her wish was to give peace to her death...
