Wow, you are awesome...I go to Dartmouth ( ranked #1 best for undergraduate teaching in America) and I'm using your videos to study for my final. You explain so much clearer than my prof lol.
the equilibrium constant, K, is actually the ACTIVITY of the products/ ACTIVITY of reactants, however, the concentrations of the products/reactants is used to determine Kc. Also, the Faraday's constant is also 96,485J/v^-1mol^-1. tricky redox question is: balance the following redox reaction to give the balanced half reactions and net ionic equation
HNO3(aq) + KI(aq) ---> NO(g) + I2(s) +
H2O(l) + KNO3(aq)
By thy way, this guy explains this exceptionally well. is a prof or highschool teacher?
Oh my gosh I have a test tomorrow for my AP Chem class and I was so confused in some parts. Your videos totally explained everything for me. My teacher can't really explain well and only leaves me even more confused! You are AWESOME!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
These are good videos! I was confused in a lecture earlier but now I realise this is fairly simple.
Chemguy - I salute you!
Also do Americans do this at school ? if so your cleverer than the stereotype, Ive only started this now half way through the first year of university!
Chem. Guy you're amazing. I have been watching many of your videos and they are all quite helpful! I watch them before my teacher lectures and after my teacher lectures and then once more before the quiz. Then I watched them again for the midterm and finals. The were great for review and learning. Thank you. They were a tremendous help!
The wheel cometh full circle! What an AMAZING FINALE!!
Everything in my head was in pieces 5 minutes ago. Thanks so much for putting all those pieces together!! It all makes sense now. Everything is related to everything else.
We connected Gibbs free energy to Keq and Ecell.
dG = RT*lnKeq
dG = -n(F naught)(E naught)
Now we can mix and match with amazing possibilities:

isn't the Nernst Eq:
Ecell = E'cell - (RT/nF) lnQ ??
Doesn't the one you wrote only work at Standard conditions for concentrations that aren't 1mol/L ?
