  • He went too far on that one, because the female at the end was an obvious stage, even people from 1977 wasn't that naive......

  • tony cliffton and wrestling women were a young act at this point of his career

  • I think it's really sad that this has only gotten a thousand odd views. My parents never cared for him but I liked him a lot as a kid. Starting to be interested again. Great vid thanks!

  • so everyone was in on it? even the fat lady sitting down at the end?

  • Fascinating. A significantly different version of Tony Clifton yet just as polished, just as sharp.

  • how do these videos only have maybe 2000 views between the 4 of them?

  • I'm confused. If this really took place in 1977, why did Tony look like that? I mean, Andy and Bob had changed the Tony costume alot by then. U know, with the Pink tux and sunglasses?

  • @alexintheoutfield Because, like the other guy said, this is Andy imitating Tony. It pissed Tony off and caused him to really hate Andy more than he already did. This is obviously Andy impersonating Tony, not actually Tony.

  • Absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing this...BAY-beh!

  • This is just Andy Kaufman imitating Clifton. It's importnat people know that, he is just making fun of Tony here, and it came back to cause him problems later on.

  • @inezvelasco

Dude, Andy and Bob Zmuda created Tony. He wasn't a real person unless one of them dressed up in the costume that Bob designed.

  • LET THIS BE HEARD: this video is the greatest work of comedic genius ever to be crafted infront of an audience

    AK is IT

  • Yeah this is my favorite Kaufman performance. It sucks that it's so incredibly rare but I am extremely fucking happy someone uploaded it.

    Thank you rejectedburrito

  • AMAZING!!! :D :D
