Awesome series, really connects Batman and his adversaries with their roots. I miss the costume of part 1, but hey, he's got more outfits than just one, I'm willing to admit that.
Excellent work mining some of the best (and darkest) films of the silent era to create a moody Batman film! The music adds to the chilling atmosphere. -Jason (Spy Vibe)
Does anyone know what films were spliced to make this? some of these were obviously form the Batman movie serial editted to look all turn of the century-ish, but most were from actual silent era films.
Oddly, curious about the footage from 1:30 with the Flash Gordon electric chair!
If this fim series was made in the 1920's Bob Kane wasn't born until 1915, and it mentions characters created in Batman's world much later than that. Did Bob Kane get the idea of Batman from this series as well as other things?
The Shadow is a collection of serialized dramas, originally on 1930s radio and then in a wide variety of media, that follow the exploits of the title character, a crime-fighting vigilante with psychic powers. One of the most famous pulp heroes of the 20th century, The Shadow has been featured in comic books, comic strips, television, video games, and at least five motion pictures.
Speaking as a Batman fan and as someone who has just started to use film in a similar manner, I have to say that I really liked this and the other three Batman videos you posted. Spooky, imaginative and just brilliant! Thanks for posting them :-)
Thank you for the showing. I am going to put this on my playlist right next to The Crimes of Dr. Mabuse, M, The Devil's Rain, The Night of the Hunter, THE THRILLER T.V. Series, The Mask of the Demon, The Omen, The Rouge Cop, and other demon-noire material which stirs my fiendishly sinister delights.
Very original! I'm impressed! :D

Reload it, it works fine. As for the finale... eh, one day.

Wasn't this described as a Five parter? I was really into this! How disappointing that the finale is missing!
Also, this one keeps freezing at 6:11 for me... Can't even skip ahead! :(

also the batman you see in the movie is the one from the 40's, they just reused the footage and turned the sound off

I love this series! All the elements work together and it feels cohesively original. I think the tone works well for both Batman and the silent era.

Wow. When I saw the list of rogues for this chapter in your description on the Batman boards, I wasn't sure that you could pull it off.
Bravo on proving me wrong. I eagerly anticipate the next installment.
