It's quite heavy, yes, but not so much as a Les Paul. it's an amazing guitar, i've had one for nine months, great bang for your buck, kicks the shit out of a Gibson Les Paul, and costs half as much.

@WhammyDown nothing beats the original mate. and gibson makes the original les paul. the soltero is a great guitar, nice shape, woods, tone and such. overall a quality guitar. but the gibson les paul is better. just my opinion. i've player the soltero and the gibson les paul traditional and in my opinion the les paul traditional beats the soltero easily.

@RobotFollower Well when it comes to guitars like these, "better" is subjective. It's not quite as clunky feeling or bassy sounding as a Les Paul, in my opinion.

Why has nobody asked about his amp tone? We could make any humbucker equipped guitar sound good with enough EQ.

This just doesn't stand up as a review. It just shows us how pretty the guitar is.

Dean never advertises these as having coil taps, the best feature of this guitar.

Is it heavy? Dean says they buy "lightweight mahogany" for Solteros, but he was talking about a USA one, whereas this is the Korean version.

Definitely gonna' get myself one of these, and promptly shitcan the bridge p/u in-favor of my DiMarzio "Super Distortion" humbucker (which is also coil-tappable...if that's a word...). This guy can't play worth fuck-all, but he can certainly sell a blind man reading glasses B-)

Sorry to keep on,there are no reviews of this guitar anywhere! Is the soltero neck the same as the dean v79? I bought that online & it was terrible to play on,i dont want to make that mistake again!

If you really like the Gibson LP neck then I think you'd like the Dean better. The Epi model has a different slope that I think isn't as nice as the Soltero.

Im thinking of buying a soltero or another epiphone,I really like the les paul neck.The soltero neck looks pretty wide.Which one do you think is easier to move on?

Very comfortable. It's not to round & it doesn't have the 'V' profile that the Dime series does.

did urs come with a case..my girlfriend got me one for christmas..she paid like 650(and they did knock off the tax) and it didnt come with a case..thought that was weird

It's the Kustom Coupe '36 tube combo. It's one of several Kustoms that's been designed by ex-Peavey 5150/JSX engineer James Brown.

Sorry for not stating earlier- it's the 1x12. Both sound great but I think the 12 has a richer tone while the 10s have a brighter, more snappy one.
