God, am I the only one who prefers Ronnie over Don? And you have to admit, this album is way more developed than Darkness Descends, which is still a fabulous album. Lyrics are also very thought provoking and somewhat intelligent, lol.

Ron sucked ass! This and the instrumental was the best two songs on this tape. I'm still pissed that Don Doty left the band. Once he heft, Jim Durkin was soon to follow a few years later. Then they started turning into a fucked over rebuilt version of Viking. Totally ruined a perfecly bad ass band.
He mostly did though, and when they lost Jim Durkin and replaced him with Erricson (viking) they shifted to way over complexed songwriting. Listen to black prophecies from darkness descends. Don Doty sounds so much more fierce in my opinion. Of course that's my opinion, just like you have a right to your own .

Not that I knock religion or Christians but Viking was a christian thrash band if you look at the song Abortuary it's pretty obvious. Anyhow Ron recruited Ericsson from Viking and you can see how I was comparing them to Viking in their later years. I personally liked there first 2 albums better, just my taste.

Yea I got all the albums for like $30. I wish I could build a time a machine and go to the 80s. When I first started getting into music it was around the late 90s and early 00s, but when you uncover classics like Dark Angel, etc. you start to ask yourself "What the hell happened to metal and thrash?" So with that to say I wonder if REAL music will ever be the way it was back in the 80s...
@wowhowcool It is. We are living in a thrash revival with new bands like Evile, Fueled by Fire, Merciless Death, Hexen, Suicidal Angels. I could go on forever. Plus old thrash bands are reuniting like Onslaught, Forbidden, Exumer, etc. It's a good time to be listening to real music.
@chiaromontestephen Forbidden's new album is coming very soon. It is called Omega Wave and they already released to singles that you can listen to on their myspace. Exumer probably won't release their new album until the 4th quater of this year though they did release a single called Waking the Fire but in my opinion, it is just plain crap. Definately one of the best and most underrated metal bands of their era. I started listening to them when this album came out couldnt believe how good they were and nobody even knew who they were.
The album after Time Does Not Heal was to be called The Atrocity Exhibition but the singer left...supposedly because he became a born again Christian but I think it may have to do with not wanting to have to sing overly long songs nearly every day at such a quick pace.
With that said, Hoglan mentioned that the 5th DA album was to be much shorter and more concise (like a less mainstream black album).
I thought he said: you don't want a blowjob, cause i leave scars.

Yea I got all the albums for like $30. I wish I could build a time a machine and go to the 80s. When I first started getting into music it was around the late 90s and early 00s, but when you uncover classics like Dark Angel, etc. you start to ask yourself "What the hell happened to metal and thrash?" So with that to say I wonder if REAL music will ever be the way it was back in the 80s...

Exumer probably won't release their new album until the 4th quater of this year though they did release a single called Waking the Fire but in my opinion, it is just plain crap. but it is also a fact end of '80s, thrash got pushed aside by death metal & around '92/93 thrash & death both pushed aside by black metal. that means low album sales of thrash (& death) bands. however, today thrash is back yes, but believe me, today still a lot of "kiddies" prefer black bands over thrash due to their image.

The album after Time Does Not Heal was to be called The Atrocity Exhibition but the singer left...supposedly because he became a born again Christian but I think it may have to do with not wanting to have to sing overly long songs nearly every day at such a quick pace.
With that said, Hoglan mentioned that the 5th DA album was to be much shorter and more concise (like a less mainstream black album).
I hope Gene reunites with the other guys.
