Looks nice. I love Sonic's model. His arms are probably a tad too long though.

Looks like it has potential. I especially like the main area, which reminds me of Sonic CD in that it gives you plenty of opportunities to just screw around with the physics (which look excellent here, by the way). Not so sure about combining them with the Unleashed/Colors bits, though! While I've certainly had plenty of fun with those types of levels, they're pretty far from classic Sonic, which seems to be what you were going for. Still, strong work!

Call me crazy, but I think this will be the next step for 3D Sonic. Fans saw Sonic Fan Remix, cried about it. BAM! Classic Sonic in Generations. Next 3D game don't be surprised if they flip that same 3D model into 3D momentum based gameplay.

Dude may I just say that test level has everything a sonic fan could ask for. Loops, Spirals, Underwater parts, tons of free-roam opportunity and yet you can still make room for some 2.5D segments just like the past unleashed games. You sir know what it is a sonic fan has been waiting for from a 3D game. and this is only the test level.

Sonic's model is ugly, I hate the jump sound effect, Sonic needs to look more ball-like when rolling and jumping.

@deaththehedgehog72 Did you read? He said you need to update to the most recent Direct X (June 2010). The June 2010 release is what specifically contains D3DCOMPILER_43.dll

The 2.5d change is AWESOME!! I hope people start making models for this engine soon because I'm not a huge fan of this one to be completely honest...

But yeah looking at this just makes me think of all the potential that came out of the old Blitzsonic engine. People pretty much turned that into a new and more awesome engine and I think the same could be done here too!

This is how a sonic game should be, we don't need super nose bleeds speeds, we just need decent speed with good to excellent platforming areas with small bits of high speed, something that generally anyone could keep up with and manipulate.

-Problems with the game-

In first stage as sonic you can avoid the boosts and defy all physics by walking slowly upside down through a loop.

Speedrun on first stage you can run right into a ramp perfectly yet you end up inside a walkway and die with sonic spinning around over himself like a boulder.

If you don't jump off the end of the final loop of the first stage you will ALWAYS fall to your doom into the water.

Problem with sonic in and of himself, you think your close enough to homing attack but,you miss, then fall to your death.

Play as shadow in the castle level while on the hover bike and the towers will fall on you when you cannot see them.

Play as sonic when your chasing the train, there's a part where sonic goes through a loop and you can't directly see him, if you don't press left, he runs off of the loop and dies.

The Blue Chaos Emerald has no origin in the story.

@WilligsPage The main town has little to no effort put into it as it looks like something you'd see in an old n64 game.

The physics engine is bad as whenever you have enough objects falling on screen at the same time the game slows down...which is very often.

Silver is the slowest character yet after the first stage when they stick him in the jungle, he has to travel through an extremely massive empty area to find the way out.

Enemies attack you off screen and you never see it coming.

@WilligsPage Tails' ring bombs are easily confused with normal rings that you lose if your hit.

The medals are, in many instances, placed in horrible locations that seem like the game forces you to pass up since you have no control over the character many times, forcing you to restart. (playing as sonic before going into the volcano when your shot into the air).

Blaze is the best character to play as and she's a side character.

Side missions are monotonous and uninteresting wastes of time.

Silver missing many of this throws even when the enemy is right in front of him.

Talk to someone, loading screen, person tells you what their problem is, loading screen, person tells you what to do, loading screen, you do the mission, loading screen, person tells you you did a good or bad job, loading screen, you get your rating, loading screen. GTA games can do missions with people you talk to through the whole game using less loading periods and they're much shorter.

I can respect peoples opinions, but Sonic 06 and Sonic Heroes is where I draw the line. I immediately disregard anything a person says ever if they say either of those are good games. More so with Sonic Heroes.

Clipping through the floor and dieing, doing sonic's tornado attack on an enemy on the rail canyon train and someone forced to clip through the wall and fall to my death, running into a booster right in front of a grind rail but I miss it completely and forced to fall to my death, falling from a great height if you even touch the control stick your momentum sends you flying in that direction and usually off a cliff, most of the levels have no guard rails..

@supermax110 I was going for the 3rd chaos emerald and even when I caught up to it the game didn't register that I did and I had to suddenly beat it to the end, clipping through the walls of the special stage and becoming stuck in a spherical void with no choice but to lose, clipping through the floor of a loop while in the loop and falling to my death, switching characters and finding the character is suspended over the bottomless pit that's everywhere and falling to my death...

Being unable to control my characters in any pinball area in the Casino stages, the fact the entire game takes place over a pit, the first stage where the disk boulders are after you they change the view so you can't see where your going at all and make it harder to avoid them, needing to jump perfectly off of the vine swings at the frog forests second act 32 times because if you fail even once you lose your score and your key and it's an instant lowest rating....
