my mom and dad were living together and had just finished university and my dad was sick and lying on the couch, wearing sweat pants and boxers over the sweats. mom brought him soup and dad just asked. no ring, no kneeling. he just asked when he was lying down. they went ring shopping a few days later, and got married in June of 1990.
