  • Man. Not another lifter with a Superman tatoo.

  • awesome!!

  • are those crowbars you're using for the hooks that hold the bar?...ala McGyver!! i like it...

  • I poisted a vid responce of my weight room. There in the vid is a monolift squat rack I built. Check it out! Gimme some feedback! Thanks again for the great idea!!!

  • ey, okay so the cross piece that the actual racks hang from is 1''? Same with the safety pins? I am building this. Its a great idea! I have a ton of 1'' round stock. Just want to make sure that is big enough to hold osme weight. but you said you have had 1250 on it for 30 mins. So I guess its strong enough! LOL!

  • I just finished building this. The rack is 8' tall, i's 2.5' deep, it has the monolift devise (Just like the one here) on it. I'm ganna post a vid with it along with the rest of my equipment as well. Check the vid out tomorrow night! Thankx for the great idea!!!!!!

  • Awesome idea. You should try selling these. Powerlifter's on a budget would eat them up.

  • it is 1" thick, the strongest you can get that will still weld. i've forgotten the grade. i gave this unit away to a friend and made one with less peices, i'll record it soon and post it, you'll love the new one.

i got it from a weld shop.

i've put 1250lbs on this thing and have let it hang there for 30 min.

  • Yeah, I really wanna see your new one. We are gonna try to make one. We train at a commercial gym, but they are cool w/ powerlifting. Se, e asked the owner if we could buy a monolift and he would let us put it in his gym, but he said the fire marshall wouldn't allow him to have anymore equipment in there. So we're gonna try to make one of these so we can just set it up when we wanna use it and then take it down when we're done. So we can't wait to see what your newer looks like!

  • Thanks for the GREAT idea! I wanted to know:

    1) What guage of steel did you use for this?

    2) Where did you get the material from?

    3) How much weight have you had on this thing?
