  • Best of the brit pop guys. Underated to fuck. Could listen to this all day!!!

  • all you youth watching this this is the music you should be into

  • was at the front at their york gig this year. awesome is a much overused word, but not to describe that night. rick and the boys did themselves very proud and it only took 3 days for my hearing to return.

  • Never sold out, very loyal to their fans and city. Very approachable lads and top York heads.

  • They were top drawer in Shepherds Bush last Saturday! Rick was loving it.

  • Yeah Leeds tonight! Last year (or was it the year before?) i was in the loo when this, my favourite song, was played. Will not make the same mistake this time round!

  • Leeds tonight!

  • they r in birmingham tonight

  • Memories

  • still sounds awesome. memories, touche.

  • I fricking loved this song. God, it brings back memories.

  • The vocals are so f'ing bland... no wonder they never reached mainstream success.

  • saw them in aberdeen last tuesday and they were amazing

  • they never got the recognition they deserved,,pity really,,some belting tunes.

  • Oh the memories...................

  • Shed 7 = no 1 then Oasis, The Verve...close behind

  • I saw these guys live in 1998 (I think) in Aberdeen - brilliant!!!!!

  • Big in Japan?

  • Saw them in a music shop on Denmark Street once. They were trying to get freebies from the shop assistant, but he wasn't having it.

  • sorry weirylad but they are from york and named after the practice room they used to use .... shed 7 , seen them a boat load of times and i still think one of the best bands to come out of england in a generation .

  • I remember thinking of that great lyric "you can cry if you want to, but it won't help you" when I got locked up. It made me remember i got myself into shit and I had to man up!

  • oh cristo sono tornato a 18 anni..

  • amazing debut lp! so underrated!!!

  • love this track

  • Awesome band. Finally got to see them last year in Newcastle, played all the classics, stunning. Will never understand why they were'nt massive?.........Longpigs anyone?

  • Great tune , great underated band u gotta check out speak easy, wat a fukin tune ....*****

  • yeah i got that wrong i think its from change giver but thats niether here nor there, dont need silly ppl like you jumping 2 assumptions about what i write if you read it properly you will see i was just pointing out the obvious so like i said wind your neck in

  • @200779pd well thanks for pointing out the obvious then. how can i wind my neck in if you come on here claiming to show love for shed seven and STILL NOT KNOW what album "chasing rainbows" is on. i'm sure I'm not the only sheds fan that is grimacing at your posts.

  • @Procidentia im not a major sheds fan just like some of their music more in2 the roses and the charlatans tbh and as for the album ive got over 1600 albums im not about 2 start diggin through them all just 2 prove a point 2 you although i do agree with you on the fact they were severly underated shame really as they are a great band live!

  • @200779pd p.s. chasing rainbows is on let it ride, probably their weakest offering. i think we're agreed on the fact they were underrated, especially in the light of the mediocrity that is passing itself off as indie music these days.

  • @Procidentia ps. theres a new band out called suzuki method headed by shaun ryders brother paul ryders son their a prospect check them out :)

  • yeah they are brilliant but unfortunatly there were other bands about takin all the limelight like the charlatans and the stone roses they got another track chasing rainbows which is great this track and chasing rainbows were off thier album A Maximmum High :))

  • @200779pd

"taking all the limelight"?! charlatans and the roses had been doing it since the late 80's and practically paved the way for shed seven

don't get me wrong, I loved the sheds back in the mid 90s but there's a reason other bands "took the limelight"

  • @Procidentia Did i say they didnt deserve the limelight?? well then i was just pointing out there were bigger more established bands out there at the time like the roses and charlatans who did as i said b4 take all the limelight so wind your neck in

  • @200779pd from a man who thinks chasing rainbows is on a maximum high, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about in any respect. sheds had a shitload of top 40 singles, they had plenty of limelight.

  • cant believe these werent more popular than they were, theyre amazing :)

  • oh i love this bloody song, and this band..

  • A good benchmark of how good these guys were/are is to go and see them live. We caught them at the tail end of last year at a sold out Glasgow Academy. Kids from 16 to 50 singing along to every single fucking song. Rick and the lads put on a blinding show. Their songs AREN'T strong enough to be likened to Oasis, Suede and those Blur fannies ....but who honestly gives a shit when you're bouncing like fuck to tunes like this?

  • Suede only had one song though, which they just sang again and again in slightly different ways (and you can do well out of that, just look at Des'ree). I think maybe Shed 7 were too varied in their output or something. Probably it's right that the lead singer's voice isn't good enough as well. But they showed more songwriting flair than Blur or Oasis ever have, for my money

  • @LCScampi these guys are ok. but to say they are better than oasis or blur is ridiculous

  • Maybe, I suppose I just don't "get" either of them. But I think with Oasis in particular you can hear one of their songs coming five miles off - seems like it's the same formula most of the time, which isn't the case with Shed 7, or at least not as much.

  • alright band. this was their biggest hit by far. and while it's pretty catchy, you have to have like ten of these before you stay for good. they didn't.

and plus, if there is originality ever to be taken into account, then Suede had already trodden this path. change the vocals to brett anderson and you'll see how close this is to "so young".

  • iain075

They were a good band aye.

The reason the never made it ?

They were competing against the likes of Oasis & Blur :D

    Oasis 4Ever

  • Brilliant, I used to love these. Can't understand why they weren't bigger.

  • @iain075

I feel bad saying it but I think the singer just wasn't good enough. Their great songs deserved a better vocalist and I think that was the main reason they weren't hugely successful. I'm a big fan of them.

  • saw them in Brighton years ago, best live band ever !!

  • Because i neeed another supppppppplier of plant food.

  • I'll see you LATER!!!!!!!!!

  • Just saw these boys at the Forum. Pretty damn impressive!

  • Going to watch in Pyramids in Portsmouth this thursday 17th Dec!!.....can't wait.....Oasis without the bolloxs!!!

  • yey amazing!!! :)

  • check out this scottish band. search third connection simple things. ta xx

  • cut and paste?

  • Roll on December..Leeds Academy. Cant wait!!

  • Very under-rated,and if weren't for the antics of the Gallagher brothers, which overshadowed the talents of other bands, they would have been their equals.

Great tunes and a great time for many British bands.

    If only.......................

  • @StDigger You are spot on its only as you get older that you realise how good thry were best of the brit pop!

  • @StDigger true.

  • Most underrated band ever - FACT.

their greatest hits is one fantastic tune after another right til the end.

  • @Tottibytes dead on - best tunes of the 90's FACT

  • @ILiveOnMyBoat

LOL not better than Slide Away though

  • @markt1982 very similar riffs mate.good shout.

  • @Tottibytes you are bang on there mate....these boys were top of the climbing frame down the park. then 5 boys from manchester turned up and took over..then another band turned up too and they all strted talking about who was better

  • @Tottibytes Definitely, along with Grant Lee Buffallo

  • @onepinkrose Interesting, I have to say I am not familiar with Grant lee buffalo - I will attempt to rectify this and see if you are right! cheers.

  • @Tottibytes I recommend the ''Mighty Joe Moon'' album from GLB. It was their second album, and it's a dream from the start to the finish. Hope you enjoy the band. I'm looking forward to receiving ''Going For Gold'' and having a good listen to Shed Seven. It looks like so many British bands got overlooked when Oasis started getting big. Cheers

  • @Tottibytes I recommend their second album called ''Mighty Joe Moon''. Such a dream of a record. Hope you enjoy their songs.

  • @Tottibytes bent as an arabs dagger

  • @Tottibytes Hmmmm intersesting........... You sound like a really interesting lad. You want to meet up for a beer sometime? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @Kegster9 I've been called a lot of things in my time, I'll take interesting! - I see we are the same age, and we both think Brothers in Arms is awesome so we would probably have plenty to talk about...

  • @onepinkrose Right, I have just been on Amazon and bought 'Mighty Joe Moon' - on your head be it!!! I will stick it on in the car and let it go round a few times and see what's shakin. I'll be in touch!

  • @Tottibytes They were an ace band on record but they couldn't even play their own guitar solos live. They always play dumbed-down versions of their own tunes. Pity.

  • when they touring again

  • They are touring in novemeber/december this year.
