@KitteMissen - those are the alarms that are attached to Firefighters suits, that go off when a firefighter is harmed or stuck so that they can find them. So when the building fell, all of those firefighters in the building's alarms went off. So many of them, horribly sad sound.

And the thing that strikes me the most is how many times you see people helping random strangers-helping a fallen person up off the sidewalk, putting an arm under someone who is too distraught to walk, hugging someone who is crying..as terrible as this day was, perhaps we can focus on these examples of the good in all of us..
