I just bought a board. 49" Zap Large Wedge. I have a smaller board. About 3 feet long. Not good for riding waves. Any advice for someone that wants to at least try to shred like these guys? Tips? Just send me a message.

practice your run and one step when dropping your board. Try getting into the habit of literally running on your board rather than jumping on it, which I see a lot of newbies. Keep your weight shifted to the back, so you can get the rocker up and shred faster. Just practice, thats all i can say.

Right. Just jog and drop your board and practice by just slowly running onto it. Then build up from there. Trust me, once you get this down then it's all gravy from there. Just have fun

This video is sick as hell, but people would respect it even more if the skim was good, like im pretty sure this was filmed in melborne, so all they have to do is drive like 4 hours up the coast to vilano, which is hands down the best spot in florida

im going to 8 contest this year. im only thirteen. i think skimboarding is alot funner than surfing and bodyy boarding. i live in NC. i started skimboarding at about age 10. i sucked so bad, but it is so worth it ounce you start getting good a ridding waves and getting covered up so stick to it.

hey i have a question, i was wondering if anyone could help me. I bought a fiberglass skimboard, and i think it may be too light.  whenever i go to drop it the wind will always catch it... so i guess what im asking is how heavy should they be??

light boards are good. the trick to it is to get the board wet first, then kick some sand on the nose of the board( on the bottom)

it adds weight to it so the wind doesnt carry it away, and also washes off when it hits the water.
