NO SHADOW! I don't really have anything against him, but now he is almost as big as a character than Sonic. He's officaly bigger than all the other Sonic characters, and has more fans then all the other Sonic people combined. Really, it just got out of hand.

Those 6 characters are all that were needed. Then we had Shadow who was pretty good at first but he eventually turned to whole series into having him as a bigger primary character than even Tails or Knuckles and it was just stupid.

Surprisingly, though the new games of Sonic are not good as the older ones (like SA and SA2), she's kind of grown out of that annoying phase and not the damsel-in-distress type anymore.

Those are the only 6 you need right there. I'm sick of seeing new characters every game. Just go back to the basics.

Sonic, the hero. Tails, the sidekick. Knuckles, the anti-hero. Amy, the love interest. Robotnik, main antagonist. Metal Sonic, the main villain.

Way too many characters nowadays, kind of the like the way Mario has been doing...

@uniongrunt Shadow just doesn't seem needed. He serves the same purpose as Bass in Megaman or Meta Knight in Kirby, the "badass" anti hero. But I think he just isn't needed. After SA2, or even his own game, he no longer serves a purpose. He doesn't add to the plot and he plays just like Sonic. And you can't really call him a villain or a hero. I think Metal Sonic works better. Its a Sonic clone, yes, but that's what he's meant to be. An evil Sonic on Eggman's side

Sounds VERY 90's. I kinda wish Sonic music now would be more similar to this. Not that it's bad, I just prefer the Sonic CD-ish style of music to the guitar stuff that they always have. It would be a nice change for once.
