  • Endless ocean brought me here, and I'm staying

  • for those people who think these girls or RD and LOTD are money making or only care about fancy dresses and such: you're probably right, but thanks to these shows Ireland and the "Celtic movement" are back on the map with much more strength than some years ago, and more and more people become interested in what you call to be the "true" essence of the Irish culture...

  • She's the perfect Irish singer, a great voice!

  • This is a drop-dead beautiful song I absolutely love it

Plus, Orla's voice connects to the song, and it sounds so pretty.

  • Absolutely beautiful voices. Why couldnt the channel been taken forwarded?

  • No offense to Charlotte Church, but my girl Ms. Fallon wails like no other songbird ever did singin this tune. I'm an arrogant brutish S.O.B. and this song melts me right away every time. Cheers to you!

  • @Duffter You are crazy this is ten times more haunting and beautiful than that other crap.

  • @Duffter The Dubliners sound like their batteries are running down.

  • @Duffter what do you call riverdance and lord of the dance if not self indulgent and money making

  • @Duffter

I hope you give them another try. They really are quite a magnificent musical group. You're entitled to listen to and enjoy whomever you choose, but your review of Celtic Woman is rather disgraceful and doesn't make a lot of sense.

  • We just finished singing this song for a Choir Contest. CHS CHOIR RULES!!!

  • maravilhosa

  • Perfeito!

  • She's my favourite of the Celtic Women!

  • I'm going to have to admit that I teared up at the end.

  • I love The Chieftains' version best, but this is nice.

  • Celtic women, thanks

  • She's an angel.

She sings AND plays the harp.

  • A very awesome version of a fantastic song. Orlagh is simply a goddess but what a pity that there is one verse missing ("In Kilkenny there is reported....."). On here first CD "The water is wide" you will find the longer - an a little bit better - version of this song.

  • however good this is (and it's vrey good) - it's not a patch on any recording of it by Van Morrison. he really gets the raw beauty of it

  • @kccffm I can understand that, Van Morrison just seems to own everything he sings. I'm a big fan - hence my name.

  • The Corrs are better

  • @petarphyle Are you insane. Yes you are.

  • the women of the british isles have carried their voices throughout the ages, their songs speak of the true workings of our hearts and hold a sacred strength and longing. the honesty of love is so powerful! i love these women so much, and thank them for reminding us all of the ancient truth and beauty within by simply sharing their voices!

  • Very beautiful!

  • The song brings tear to my eyes and i feel i miss something when she sings; but i am not sad. Her dress is gorgeous:x:x

  • I did not know Orla could play the harp! Cool.

  • This is my favourite version of this song.

  • liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda melodia fantastica

  • I get chills every time the moment she starts to sing...

  • I'm drunk today and I'm seldom sober

And run have I from town to town.

But I am sick now and my days are numbered.

Come all you young men and lay me down.

  • @xoxo2lexi4xoxo

I think this one sounds closer than what 100DiddlySquatxx said. On the other hand, there's so many different versions out there, it's hard to tell if we're even talking about the same ones! It makes my head hurt! T^T

  • @twinpearlsakura, lyrics continued.

My childhood days bring back sad reflections

Of happy times spent so long ago.

My childhood friends and my old relations

Have all passed on now like melting snow.

But I spend my days in endless roaming.

Soft is the grounds, my bed is free.

And to be back now in Carrickfergus

On that long road down to the sea.

  • Comment removed

  • @twinpearlsakura

I wish I was in Carrickfergus

    Only for nights in Ballygrand.

I would swim over the deepest ocean

The deepest ocean for my love to find.

But the sea's wide, and I cannot swim over

Neither have I the wings to fly.

If I could find me a handsome boatman

To ferry me over to my love and die.

  • Perfectly done.

  • I wish she was still in Celtic Woman :(

  • Whoever disliked this. . . . just go die.

  • Would someone mind sending me the lyrics through a message? I have the cd version but not this one. T^T

  • @twinpearlsakura...What do you mean by "the cd version"? This is the same as whats on the Celtic Woman CD..

  • @gaeilge1O1

Not exactly. There's one or two lines that are changed and I can't quite here it. It sounds like

    "I've drunk today

    And I'm sad of sober

    And run have I

    From town to town"

I'm not sure, but I know that's not what it said on the cd version.

  • Comment removed

  • @twinpearlsakura The way I know the song it's 'a handsome rover from town to town' which they might have changed since she's a girl . . . but it sounds like she sings that.

  • @Abhilynn Well, whatever she's saying, it's beautiful nonetheless! I wish I could sing like her. I probably sound like dying bird to everyone when I sing! ;_;

  • Orla is amazing, she is like no other when she sings straight from her big heart. Her voice is so angelic and it tells of her heritage, and her personality.

  • Best version EVER.

  • I didn't really like this song at first, but now I love it! I love how gentle it is.

  • I'm doing this piece for a vocal festival, and this is a great reference for me to go by! Love it :)

  • I`ill hug her...NOW!

  • i like her playing the harp its so good

  • Orla is a master class all her own.

  • I like how you can still hear Orlas accent when she sings,

  • @2SilverRings It's the best part!

  • i liked her singing newgrange better

  • @carrotopgrl ...She sounds brilliant in both.

  • whoever wrote this song, they are genius! This is one of my favorite songs. I've only heard it sung by one other person, and I know for a fact he didn't write it. This is really good and has more lyrics than the other one I've heard. All of the members in Celtic Women are sooooo talented!

  • This is my favorite version of this song. ^_^

  • excited to see Orla has a Christmas special coming on PBS this weekend! Was afraid this talented lady may have retired from music, looking forward to hearing her lovely voice again.

  • chillingly beautiful song by celtic women.. best version..

  • Amazing

  • This is so beautiful! Irish music is the best! I love Celtic Woman!

  • Orla has the best voice out of the original four singers in Celtic Woman. She sung this song better than Lisa Kelly in my opinion.

  • @365367368 She sings it way better than Lisa.

  • @365367368 IDK... My favorite is Chloe.

  • @christianpoet2003 She is really talented...I don't mean that she has less skill, but I think her voice is just different. And her voice is really good.

  • @365367368 I think it's far more that Orla has the RIGHT voice for this song. Lisa's voice is beautiful - between May It Be, Caledonia, Send Me A Song and The Moon's A Harsh Mistress that can't be denied - but Orla's smoky tones are just perfect for this song. Orla can sing pretty much anything, but she always shines on these slower, mystical songs.

  • Cw lost a great talent when they lost Orla, her voice was so full of passion.

  • For a good laugh, watch this and then go watch Anne Buckley's version.

  • @nEOspOr1n This version is different than Anne Buckley's version, but that does not make it (or the Anne Buckley version) "worth a laugh". Both versions I consider to be exceptional and sung by two very talented female vocalists. Orla's seems to have a much more Irish feel to it. Anne's is a somewhat different style and yet is still very very good.

  • her voice is so haunting!!! love it!!!

  • the song come from Feet of flames this is a nice song

  • need to take my mum back to see her peple neen to do this..

  • This looks like it was filmed in Vegas. Thanks for posting this. It's an awesome song. I wish I could hire them for a performance at my birthday party next year but I couldn't afford them.

  • @smilingscottsman....Not even close...This performance was at the Slane Castle in Ireland...

  • @gaeilge101 Thanks for clarifying that.

  • Oso polita da abesti hau. Zoragarria.

    Wonderfull song

  • I'd never heard her before watching this. It actually made me tear up a little.

  • Is she live, using autotune, or lip syncing?

  • @365367368 LIVE.

  • I love the smiling lady at 3:52, it's great to see how an audience enjoys the music. Fantastic performance by Órla, so much love and dedication in one song...

  • wow! amazing voice!

  • Is she out of lines or does ' I'm drunk today and i'm seldom sober' belong in THE song? Cause in the recording of the song she doesn't sing That

In case of out of lines: well amazingly filt in ! I'm Astonished..

  • @Celiien...NO those lines DO NOT belong in the song..

  • @Celiien Actually, those lines are in the original of this folk song. However, she does leave out two lines that happen directly before she says "I'm drunk today...." Those lines are: "And in Kilkenny it is reported there are marble stones as black as ink / With gold and silver I would support her, but I'll sing no more now till I get a drink." She also changes a few of the words throughout the song but thats just because the original is meant to be sung by a man like most irish folk songs.

  • This Lady is an Angel.

  • The song is so sad and powerful but finds its consolation in her angelic voice that brings hope to the world.

  • Not only is this song beautiful, but her dress is as well!

  • beautiful song and brilliantly song, love it! can't beat it, love for the irish!

  • Oh my goodness, she plays the harp too? Beautiful

  • not only is this fine irish lass more beautiful than any words could describe but she says my most favorite lines that all the others seem to conviently leave out BUT IM DRUNK TODAY AND IM SELDOM SOBER.......HA HA HAAAA HERE IS A TOAST TO THE BEAUTY THAT IS CELTIC MUSIC AND MAY IT NEVER DIE AND MAY IT BE SUNG BY ANGELS LIKE THIS

  • I love this song. my favorite song out of New Journey. It really touched me and she sang it so beautifully. She is gorgeous as well.

  • :D My favorite. Orla's voice is so Beautiful and Haunting. It travels directly to the heart and soul.

  • too bad she left Celtic Woman.... Orla doing this song was the highlight of the show.

  • I think I may have given someone an accidental "thumbs down". I am really sorry!

  • orla is one of my favorite singers i would love to meet her some day thatwould be my dream

  • @loveswolfs65able i met her 2 years ago in dublin! she was really nice and down to earth she signed like 20 autographs for me!! i hope u get to have the same experience i did!!!

  • @bleedinglove860790 I recently met her after "Orla's Celtic Christmas" taping in Nashville, TN. She was simply beautiful, inside and out!!

  • Thumbs up if you first heard celtic woman in endless ocean ^^

  • @thewardenlover actually it was haley westenra that was in endless ocean, but yeah I searched for her, listened to some of her songs and then saw this group and I have been hooked ever since!

  • This is beautiful. She is very talented.

  • this is a music of Loreena McKennitt

  • always incredible to listen....

  • i see why they used this for endless ocean 2

  • Speaks straight to the soul. Absolutely beautiful.

  • I practically melted at the curtsy at the end. I haven't seen a girl or woman do that is 15 years.

  • This brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful, lyrics hit close to home.

  • i was first introduced to celtic woman through endless ocean 2 i thought the music some of the most beautiful music ive ever heard its all i listen to now. my fav is dulaman not only do i like them, i found out i AM irish. im still trying to learn the language. its hard

  • effing beautiful and completely incoherent, just like I like it <3

  • @lickmetender

  • @lickmetender miley cyrus is a dumb skank and so are you ,if you dont like it ,DONT LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!

  • Orla was my favorite Celtic Woman and she still is my favorite......I really miss her

  • @MRWEATHERMASTER me too. She'll be here in the fall for a tour.

  • @Erin92100 Really?? any clue if she"ll be stopping in Illinois?

  • I wish I was in Carrickfergus if this was the music that was played there!

  • @dubemp2 I could not have said it better.

  • What an absoloubtly beautiful song, and what a beautiful voice, and amazing harp. Why are todays singers so bsd. This is pure magic. Thank you celtic Woman

  • That's incredible to be able to play the harp... and she does it so gracefully. Lovely voice and song. :)

  • @FollyxXxFallen lovely song and so beautifully done. lovely lady

  • beautiful. I hadn't heard of this song until I got Endless Ocean: Blue World but ever since then I've loved it.

  • ORLA...Hermooosa voz.

  • Orla...boooooooo...hermosa voz.......

  • It's not just the singing that is wonderful - it is the songs.

Lots of people singing today have good --even great--voices, but I can't bear to listen to them because the songs they are singing are a total bore at best. Unintelligible lyrics and musically bereft.

  • whoever invented the harp was a genius!!! such a beautiful and melodious instrument!

  • Orla has the most amazing voice ever, seriously.

  • Adorável, fantástico, celestial!

  • que hermosa voz...

    dios mio es perfecta!

  • I think declan galbraith sings this song better

  • Fine girl ye are!

  • this just makes me cry, wonderful words.

  • i've loved listenning to them since i was a little kid! i really want to sing with them one day, it would be really cool.

  • she is such a wonderful human for singing to us. What the eff she is so perfect

  • The lyrics "and neither have I wings to fly" are also in "The Water is Wide".

  • Beautifully sung, beautifully played and a joy to listen to! One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

  • @boyxboy87 i will find u

  • @boyxboy87 Not true. Wow, you are everywhere on YouTube aren't you?

  • @boyxboy87 What exctly is you problem ??

    Sounds like you're extremly jelous.

And if you weren't, you wouldn't write such crap.

  • @Hekeeo omg i cannot believe ur getting angry over a song you idiots!!!

  • @boyxboy87: No free-thinking American woman would ever be near you. If you really are an Englishman, you're giving your brothers and sisters a bad name. Go crawl into a hole and die, scum.

  • @boyxboy87 Skippy, you're too stupid to get laid, even by brit skanks with typically rotten brit teeth.

  • @boyxboy87 Man, you seriously are an idiot. It's pretty obvious by your posts that the English are not friendlier and more proper.

  • Beautiful. :)

  • her voice is so beautiful i think she sings it the best

  • @bmwilloughby: you must be retarded

  • you should check out declan galbraith singing this song

  • @palatena Its moving, you have to watch during at least third qutas of the video to catch it.

  • This beautiful song is the main theme of Endless Ocean 2 Blue World ;).
