I love the slides that John does when he's going between notes. It's something that really differenciates his from Jon Groff's. I love Jon's version, but i don't know if the slides are something that really suits his voice.

@sourpatch5559 In the actual Broadway production of Spring Awakening this song is sung but the character Melchior played by Jonathan Groff, John Gallagher Jr and Lauren Pritchard are part of the original cast playing Moritz and Ilse. Listening to this makes me wish that they had written Ilse into the song at the very end. Don't get me wrong, Jon Groff has an incredible voice but I always felt his voice (as well as every other Melchior I've seen) usually sounds a little off at the ending falsetto bit. But Lauren sounds absolutely beautiful singing the end. It also would have been cool to see more of Ilse's reaction to his death. After all, she WAS the last person to see him alive.

yes. she sings the backup voacls to this song in the show. jonathan groff (melchior) sings it while the rest of the cast sings as the chorus. except for john gallagher jr (moritz) because this song is sang at his funeral.

There is something so AMAZING about John Gallagher's voice. it's just got this unique edge to it that i've always loved. really neat hearing him do Melchior's song, kinda weird when you realize that in a sense he's singing about himself... just a though. I ADORE this man.

sure, I use a program called Moyea which downloads youtube videos (called FLVs) and can convert them to any type including MPEG which works for itunes.

@ATUgirrl You can do the same with Windows Movie Maker. Just upload the video, and then drag the video into the "audio" bracket, and then you'll be all set.
