some people are living in poverty and are trying to live with a fish, it is really really hard to find a large tank without splurging. this is perfectly fine, saying getting a slightly larger tank and saying the fish is sad is just saying wasting another 40 dollars and 10 hours or so. and if the betta looks sad, ure probably refferring to that the fish is not photogenic or the camera is crappy. so shut the f up!!! i hear this all the time, and its financially irrational.

This is another bad video that i have seen lately. My god where do i start? First off, the tank is way too small. You should have your Betta in a 5-10 gallon tank. The 10 gallon is better than a 5, but it will do. You can cycle your 5 gallon tank. This tank that you have your betta in cannot be regulated to a set temperature. A heater could not keep this tank at a correct temperature. a 5 gallon tank can also be filtered. It's optional, but it useful. Your filter is actually a air pump.

@bisceebee oh dear, I'm afraid your puppy analogy is a bit off. A better comparison would be keeping a puppy in a large closet, a 25 gallon would be a mansion for a betta. Just because it's not as cruel as a tiny cup doesn't mean it's fine. Besides, those fish are there to be purchased, the cups aren't meant to be their final living place. a 2 gallon tank is better than a cup, but by no means a big enough tank (3 gal and bigger). How are you going to cram a heater in there?

To keep costs low they keep them in the smallest tank possible. They do that with just about every animal they sell. I once kept my white crown tail betta ina 2.5 gallon fry tank (with no fry) It looked so small, I don't know how you could keep a fish in that small tank, now I use a 5 gallon dry tank, you don't take your betta out while you clean the tank. You only do a 25% water change weekly.
