  • I made this drive a couple of years ago. Very impressive!!

  • I went on that same Tyvola Road exit when I was in Charlotte on Nov 6-7, 2010! I was at that Marriott Hotel that was off Interstate 77.

  • What is the name of music?

  • @bourdondanslespace "Ready Steady Go" by Oakenfold (Paul Oakenfold)

  • This video obviously shows you were going pretty fast.Aren't you aware of the state troopers?

  • @nostalgiamelancolia This video was sped up 3x...

  • right before this stretch on the i-77 needs 3-4 lanes for real, traffic is always horrible right after huntersville going south

  • @123qwerty Fully agree!! After I-85 heading towards SC, 77 needs to be AT LEAST 10-12 lanes total and at least 8 up to 40 in Statesville. I wish NCDOT would focus on its current infrastructure rather than always building new.

  • @CosmoPhotography they cant do that now north carolina if fighting Fayetteville wants interstate 295 done Raleigh Interstate 540 is going to be build in tolls Charlotte Interstate 485 and Greensboro Interstate 840 i think they will add more lanes to the freeway when people make websites called interstate 77 in charlotte sucks then the might start adding lanes on 77 its worked on interstate 485 in charlotte

  • Guys? Help me!! I need to learn how to do this. I'm from the Northeast. Around Providence, RI. to be exact. A lot of neat hwys up here.

  • When did Charlotte get HOV lanes?? I didn't know the city was expanding the freeways to HOV lanes. Havent driven through Clt in a long time.

  • @xcluenic Charlotte got HOV lanes in 2004 and the Lake Norman communities are looking into converting them to HOT lanes. Not sure if that will fly or not... I, actually, re-shot this in HD last week so be on the look out within the next couple of days! :-)

  • I drove that in May on my way to a Wedding. So at the beginning of this video I remember being on the phone, talking to a friend back home and telling him I'm near the home of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!

  • The song really works well, it may find it's way in to one of my videos next year :)

  • @Freewayjim Paul Oakenfold is the best IMO when it comes to trance. He also does a hell of a job at remixing other artist's songs (see my G'boro Urban Loop Stop Motion to hear his remix of Madonna's "Give It 2 Me". The idea for the use of this song in this video comes from when it was used in the movie "Collateral". He also did most of the music for "Swordfish".

  • That's cool, never heard of him until your video. I feel like an old fogie now :)

  • What is a HOV lane???

  • A lane restricted to 2+ persons, buses and motorcycles.

  • good video!!

I think it's one of your best videos, good work!!.

with teachers who inspire him is normal to do it well.

  • @CAMINOANDALUZ Thank you, man! :)

  • Interesting HOV structure at the I-85 interchange.

  • the hov bridge . is a very clever way of design .. i am not to filmilar with this area but was this build so they would not have to modify the i-85 interchange ?

however this is one of your most impressive video's .. i would continue with tis .. as it will only get better

  • I'm a bit surprised by the physical width of I-77 in some parts. I knew HOV lanes were added pretty recently, but I didn't realize the physical ROW allowed the potential for widening this freeway further.

The HOV bridge was pretty neat; reminds me a bit of what I'd expect in California.

  • Brent, the median is VERY wide, as you can see. This is the only freeway that I can think of in NC that has one this large. Though I don't think it's meant for anymore lanes and will probably stay grassy for the foreseeable future. NCDOT has plans to start widening I-77 in northern Mecklenburg County and Iredell County. It likely won't start till after 2020, but it should end at the I-40/77 interchange (this should become a 4-level stack from what I've heard).

  • The median on I-85 from Lexington to Greensboro is HUGE in places.

  • Neat view from the HOV Lane, well done!

  • Thanks, Jim! I used the HOV lane with a friend of mine to only get around traffic. NCDOT is too cheap to actually do a decent widening. Normally, I like staying in the main lanes.

  • Good video, Evan.

I see you had to maneuver around those left lane hogs (lol).

  • Thank you, Bryant! :)

Yeah, they've EVERYWHERE on that road. It's especially nerve-racking when 77 goes back down to 3 lanes south of 277 (John Belk Freeway portion) and they takeover every part of the road.
