During the mid 80's I never liked Madonna. I was young and influenced by all the negative publicities she was receiving. End of 80's when I came to appreciate the legendary Madonna.

Dont get me wrong I love The Thompson Twins and the riffing on this was fantastic (although not down to Tom's fake guitar playing I'm afriad) but Tom was seriously struggling to sing that in key, live doesnt necessarily equal good in my experience. And nice to see Madonna before she got up herself. She'd only released a couple of albums at this stage so still in her infancy as a commodity and couldnt afford to be a snob like she is now.

saw the Live Aid dvd recently - this is one of the great performances of the event and something different, although it could have been done without Madonna, guess she needed the exposure back then, but anyone can play the tambourine...

My highest respect for Madonna, I thought she was only a fad back then, and now she´s here, almost 25 years later, still making great shows and music. I am glad I stand corrected on this, hope she carries on, you gotta have something special to be in the public´s preferences from the 80´s until now. Great performer.

@sanchorb MAdonna is a project now, legions of artists, designers, choreographers, musicians work on her music, image, persona etc... If it was just up to her she would stil be writing shit like Starlight.
