Sun fish are relics from the past. Prehistoric animals that havn't changed much. I deliver sailing yachts between the UK and the Med, we see lots of these things and the biggest were quite a bit bigger than that one.

Its a sun fish, you can spot them on the top of the water lying on their side sometimes, not common though.
