  • That's tough, I cried

  • At least the dog isn't dead you stupid bitch. Just be grateful he didn't infect your family.

  • That's your own damn fault. Take some responsibility next time.

  • It's weird. I was searching on Google.com for Dog bitten by rabid raccoon because my daughter wanted to see what really happens. We were watching an episode of Little House On The Prairie and their dog was bitten by a rabid raccoon. I was literally surprised that anything, especially a video, existed of this exact scenario.

  • Wait 6 months for what?

  • @StephenNadrianne yeah thats kinda what im thinking. if its going to die anyways then why would you want it to suffer for 6 months? at least put it out of its misery

  • :(

  • So preventable, I don't feel bad for them at all. Hope the dog was alright and hope the dumb yuppies learned their lesson.

  • he dont look rabid at all...

  • Don't have it in uk neither .

  • why is there rabies in the USA... the whole australia is rabies free.... u USA aint dong your JOB! start now and let your people know that this can be erased from ur country's history.

  • @gusto1978 ...This is an incredibly stupid statement. Australia has never HAD rabies. It has never existed there. It exists throughout the entire wilderness of the US, and Canada. It is a naturally occurring disease in America. Australia didn't do anything to ELIMINATE IT. It never had it to begin with.

If you would like to fund the testing of every single squirrel, bat, raccoon, opossum, deer, skunk, cat, dog, mouse, rat, fox, and chipmunk in America... then be my guest. :/

  • @SetoJouGoodness NOW, THATS a STUPID STATEMENT buddy. FUCKKK man u must be a Yank so imma just let ya know 1 thing.... greater parts of Europe doesnt have rabies Because the huge vaccination scale to animals such as dogs cats and even ferrets.... here in Australia animals are vaccinated against these kind of illness That why we dont have rabies.... now go read a book or something! in the USA u guys have these problems because u guys are a third world country common sence

  • @gusto1978 AHAH Maybe -you- should go pick up a book. I'm not even going to justify this with a response besides this: Go learn to spell.

  • @gusto1978 Yea, unfortunately for that lovely thought, rabies didn't manage to run rampant through your wilderness systems. As for your equally lovely statement about the United States, you really must ignorant to go and make a broad statement such as that when you PROBABLY have never even looked at the numbers yourself. You -probably- looked up your facts on Wikipedia. Lastly, You're telling me to go read a book? Buddy, look at your grammar and spelling, and go learn to write. :/

  • @gusto1978 Even rabies doesn't want to live in Australia.

  • @vaibanez17 hahaha fuck ya

  • and at that ppl should keep the dogs in kennels outside

  • See this is why i dont keep my dogs outside i dont what wild animal could attack them

  • stupid obese dog owners

  • Dumb ass owners. They should of gotten bit instead! Poor dog

  • If you can't take the time to take care of your pet then you should never own a pet. Sad excuse for an owner. If anything the owners should be put down for their negligence of their pet.

  • Well, there were certainly ways of preventing this.

  • It's just a dog.... She's acting like her kid died. The dog didn't even do that.

  • @PJtheFey It's not "just a dog". He is clearly a part of the family. Shows how much of a heartless dick you are.

  • does the dog die in 6 months?

  • @romani882 no. you need to act ASAP to get them an emergency vaccination only supplied at vet hospitals. you know youre too late when the symptoms start to show. by then it has complete hold of the brain

  • @romani882 in other words, these people are complete fuck tards for not trying to get it the vaccination

  • Shut up bitch.

  • vaccine vaccine vaccine... all sounds like a commercial for pet pharma!

Only 4 months behind she said, I'll bet ya had it been up to date we would be at the same place....

  • If they cared for the dog so much, why in the hell did they not get it it's vaccinations finished. It's them that should be put in the cages. Stupid dumb asses.

  • @eddsroom69edds You don't know their whole story, and nobody expects their beloved pets to by attacked by a rabid animal.

  • Just give him some Scooby Snacks

  • I am so sorry, for you. I hope everything turns out ok for you guys.

  • This was uploaded 2 days b4 my birthday and i hope that the family will get better or something

  • poor dog.

  • pace Fl dog bitten by raccoon - google search

  • dog was released from quarantine and all is well

  • I would never....ever....do that to my dog. Stick him in a cage for 6 months with no contact. That would kill me...inside and out. I would rather have kept him at the vets, and waited the six months. At least at the vets,he will get some sort of attention, and he won't be completely alone.

And why didn't this dog get a three year rabies shot? My dog is 8..and he now gets three years rabies shot. Just doesnt make sence at all.

  • Whoa....whoa....WHOA!

I was just going through videos...and I saw a video that says a dog died of Rabies WITHIN 10 days of being bitten.

Apparently,it takes TEN DAYS for an animal to die of rabies.

    NOT 6 MONTHS!!!

    WTH is your vet thinking.....??

It doesn't take months for an animal to die...

If the dog was in fact bitten by a rabid racoon...then it doesnt take THAT long for symptoms to show up!!!

  • @xx6pandaxbear9xx i guess it depends on the dog.

  • @xx6pandaxbear9xx Thats what i'm saying. Plus what town is that that is all they have to talk about.

  • @xx6pandaxbear9xx It absolutely can. It can take up to a year for symptoms to appear. But the normal incubation time is about a week to a few months. So the 10 days is absolutely possible. This is why you should get vaccinated ASAP

  • @christinab624 Ohhh okay. Well...I hope the poor dog pulled through.

  • Only an idiot human being would get bitten by a raccoon. You just have to kick his ass as hard to possible.

  • that would be very sad if the dog died before the 6 months was up and didnt even have rabies to begin with

  • rabies is a virus that is constantly mutating and is able to spread anywhere unlike some virus. wether a dog has antibodies or not those antibodies are still not a natural thin that the dogs body produces so over time the new unprotected blood cells will slowly outnumber the protected ones leaving that dog at serious risk. thats why vets recommend that dogs and cats get boosters every now and then just like humans getting flu shots. or tetanus. it isnt the owners fault at any cost.

  • don't cry on t.v. if you don't do your responsibilities as a pet owner...you dont get my sympathy..ole yeller right there might die because you are lazy...

  • aw. how sad. hope he's okay

  • @reynoldsstacie dude he has rabies he is going to die unless they take care of it.

  • Thats stupid. Any Vet will tell you that a 1 year shot is just as good as a 3 year shot. And if you have an 11 year old dog that has had at least 8-10 boosters over his lifetime will be fine? I don't get it??

  • Couldn't they check the titre on the rabies vaccine? I know it is not legal to titre for rabies, but if antibodies were present, that would indicate the dog would not get rabies. I think the dog should be OK, but hope someone updates this story.

  • @mklitt Atually antibodies for rabies could be a sign that the dog DOES has rabies. Even though the immune system cannot defeat this virus it still tries and therefore antibodies are produced. A positive antibody test is actually used to confirm many diseases. But it is not that easy with rabies (especially since the vaccine would also produce antibodies)

  • i know how they feel rex was my lab i was playing in the yard an a rabid coon chased me he killed it and we had to have him put down

  • whatdo you mean its not right? your dog ha rabies inside him! if it weren't for the vet telling you to keep him inside the mini kennel he would have attacked you an you would have gotten rabies! intead of blaming the vet for "cruelty" you should be considering the fact that he just saved your lives. my god.

  • That is absolutly terrible, i am really feeling for the dog and its family and she is right if you have had a pet that long it is like family.
