Ever since cars have been around people have been trying to squeeze a little more performance, regardless if its the brakes, suspension, engine...etc. There is nothing wrong with someone buying some add-ons for their car to get a little more out of it. Those who mock it or make uneducated comments have a complete disrespect for the passion that is motoring from the kid that bought a cool air intake for his yaris to the world cup, world rally, drift champions.. what ever motor sport you follow.

toyota engines can make some power but ... a yaris wtf? youl probably get 190-210 hp tops and dont get me wrong in a two door yaris thats plenty but really its FWD (front not four dumbases) its tall and thin and high youl roll it in a fast corner .. and OMG my eyes popped (the looks of a yaris are an eye sore) soo if you like it awesome but.. it wont work..

people who buy a yaris know what they are getting into. We are well aware that its not a SI-k20-h22-supe'd-up-race-rock­et-on-wheels. Its a small Eco car that with some bolt-ons can be a fun little car. I just as easily could have bought a nice RSX and had a really fast car, but i bought this because I'm not in some underground crew that races. this car is slightly off center and it fits with a certain demographic. In short, dont hate someone because they are different.

I would have taken the bus for a month and spent the money you wasted on an engine swap or at least a supercharger. this is an unatractive , large egg shaped car. even with the money you spent it doesnt look much better than a stock fit. I own one because its a cheap car for college, the second I graduate that thing is gone

man, try a bolt on turbo...0-60mph in 8sec @ 160whp...tune it to ~230whp, some carbon body parts, low comp piston + rod, 4agze transmission voila, u can achieve 60mph in less than 6sec..

Well as long as he likes his car, that's all that matters. I just feel that bolt-ons really won't do shit on a weak N/A motor. From a financial standpoint, he wasted thousands of dollars on a car that really doesn't respond well to mods. If I were him, I would've went with an aftermarket suspension setup instead. Adding boltons won't allow you to outrun others - but adding a suspension setup can allow you to out maneuver others.

However, it's his car, he can do whatever he wants with it.

@tubegangsta Kinda funny the Fit comment since i have yet to lose to that piece of shit car. Not even the new Fit with more hp keep up with the Yaris. The Yaris also has better suspension and aerodynamics, not all is power you know, racing isn't always in a straight line.

no way go turbo for it.

superchargers work off the pulley system in your car and are great for higher displacement engines with the extra torque to move the supercharger.

turbos work off the exhaust but are a little more complicated but are good all around but especially for smaller displacement engines
