Completely agreed with your description, though I'm pretty sure the "feels off" part is mainly the synth-type choice and the staccato-type playing style.

I like this one better than Dark Phoenix version because It seem to have a bit more chaos and the "out of place" feeling in it compared the other version, but eh.
