  • there is something nicklaus like in this swing , rhythm ? something cant put my finger on it

  • @natep513 How far you think Dunaway would crush one of today's drivers in his prime? I'm thinking 370 carry regularly...

  • @bossofalltime I read somewhere that he used to hit those persimmons 330+ in the air in competitions.....so yeah I think you could add 40-50 yards to that with modern equipment IMO.

  • @natep513 Thanks for your reply. I could watch Dunaway all day. Hope you've got more footage in the future!

  • I wonder if Dunaway is still teaching over in Arkansas?

  • @criswelljody

I contacted him several months ago and he was living in Rogers, Ark. and still teaching.

  • @natep513 I'm a few hours away. I thought about maybe visiting for a few lessons. I'm self taught (use the Austin style swing) and would probably benefit tremendously with his guidance. This is one of the best golf videos I've ever seen on youtube. He looks like a machine. Thanks for posting it and replying!

  • Nice sound of persimmon.

Time we all went back in time and put some 43" tree on the ball!

  • Beautiful leverage, HOGAN type swing. Love that Persimmon wood sound. And his right arm is not flying all over the place. GREAT.

  • Best Austin style swing!

  • Look at that stallion... THWACK THWACK THWACK THWACK... Now to just DO THAT...

  • In Austinology, Mike Austin said that Dunaway is probably the longest hitter that ever lived....seeing this video I'd say he's a contender....the ball speed is phenomenal with that equipment.

  • boom chakalaka!! Just can't stop watching this swing for the past months.... best swing I've seen with Mike Austin's and Sam Snead

What's his problem? Why he's not on tour? Bad short game? Bad putter? Fall on pressure??

  • what video is this from Nate ?

  • @seth1455

I'm not certain. Steve Pratt said it was from Sybervision's "Power Golf" from around 1990.

  • Dunaway kills it and Mike Austin was a genius. Had the pleasure of working with Mike Austin for years. I've posted clips at mentoredbythelegend. Effortless power with no strain or pain.

  • @fdates15

    I couldn't agree more.

  • @natep513

that explains a lot ! Can't stop watching this swing, seems so easy on the body for such a powerfull swing

  • I have to agree this is one hell of a swing. Kind of wondering why we don't see this type of technique more on tour, kind of reming me of Snead and Mike Austin pivots

  • @ElGolfeux

Yes, Mike Dunaway is Mike Austin's most famous student.
