I love that chopper sound! I saw some of the real aerobatics of the AH-1G serving with an all-Cobra outfit - 235th Aerial Weapons Company - in the Mekong Delta in 1971. While I was support, I then flew over 100 hours in everything but a Cobra, with C Troop 16th Cav (Air). Even had a half-hour of stick time (what can you run into in the Delta?).

Anyway, I was in the shitter before a brief during helo school for the Navy the other day and one of the magazines in the stall had these Sky Soldiers on the cover so I thought, "I gotta check this out." I read the article and saw the pictures... Pretty fucking motivating. As soon as I got out of the head I called my brother who's Army enlisted and in an officer program and again tried to persuade him to go for helos...
Yes, yes, I recognized the tower and surrounding landmarks of the Dayton Airshow, thats where I seen these guys for the first time. Whoever filmed this fucked up cause they didnt capture the best part of the whole show...the "bow" where all 4 ships tilted the tail and dipped the nose in a formal bow at the same time!!! aaaarrrgghh! I really need to invest in a video camera!!
