Volumn is best for my hearing. Reminds me of Mary Steenburgen, Laura Nyro in another song..! But lets be clear about this (comparison) No-one quite like Kate, & never will be. @zum59 Britney lip-synched at her own concert, with a microphone.. The kind of mircophone Kate Bush used on tour in 1979 when she did sing live. This video was done when miming was common on TV. The pretty of this is the song, that tells a story.

@emmyjo720 couldn't agree more, no-one sang live in those says on their tv perfomances, in fact some of the funniest out takes on the topic are from groups not singing along with themselves cos they can't hear the music!! We expect these modern day singers to sing live cos most of them have little or no imput in the writing, production or lyrics, so if they cant even sing the bloody song what can they do??! (Cheryl Cole you are one of them!) Kate's a class act and this is a great song!

I was woundering if Kate Bush is known in America.I know she didnt tour because she had a fear of flying in aircrafts.Due to her fear of flying i think she maybe unknown in the U.S.Of course we all have youtube now so in this day and age things are different but back then if you didnt tour America your albulm would most probably fail there.

I have always loved her, but recently i saw an interview from '84 or so. She was so grounded, not arrogent. Above all her eyes stole my heart and her articulate, intelligent, softly spoken answers had the interviewer looking like a child. The woman interviewing kept missing the point and Kate had to spell it out each time, but she did so with the utmost tact.

I would have loved her forever if I had the oppertunity. My perfect woman, and what a voice!

I concur with your point entirely. Kate Bush has huge talent. Her music was very unique, as was her awesome voice. She could ring rings around contemporary performers in so many respects. Her music has really stood he test of time, and she still looks pretty tidy too! :)

Yes but when the ageing woman who wrote lettters to her husband as young "Babooshka", finally meets him, how come she reminds him of his wife when she was young and beautiful? The lyric doesn't say what happened next, when she came closer. I reckon all that glass smashing is his violence when he realises he's been deceived. Yeah she probably is. I don't know about American TV, but in Europe it was (probably still is) not uncommon to lip sync while performing on TV shows. I guess it's just the way it is. It never personally bothered me, for just one song.
