This song is great. I don't care if anybody thinks it's kitsch or 'corn ball'. It's a cool Neil Sedaka song & this is a rocking version of it by Tony Christie. In fact, I like Tony's version better than Neil's own version. P.S.At 1 min 41sec, check the drummer decked out in a classic '70's USA flag tight top..just thought I'd thrown that in because I'm a '60's/70's fashion fan.

This performance IS from Top of the Pops, hence Jimmy Savile's appearance at the beginning. However, the footage is being used in another pop show. I can't remember which show it was, but it was German or Swedish, I think (the audience shot at the end is obviously from that). Tony is always great, but I think this live version is truly stunning and better than any of the recordings I've ever heard. Respect!

This is from a December '71 Top Of The Pops... long junked by the BBC but saved by German TV company ZDF, they used to license some TOTP performances on their 'Disco' programme, hence the mute appearance of Jimmy Saville briefly at the beginning, and the cut to the German audience dancing around TV screens.
