The voice is not quite all there...but still way better than most and keeping in Kalnoky's style, which was appreciated. A very good job on the rest though.
it was a really good cover. i think what definately would have made it better though is if you would have recorded the vocals harmonies. those are really high though so it may not be in your range. but it would definitely add some depth to the vocals. but in all i really enjoyed.
haha yeah i did consider putting them in but i didnt really have time, i had to have it ready for the ucas deadline so it never happened, hence the MIDI bass and tormbone, plus i probably couldnt sing that high anyway!
i bet i know way more about streetlight then you. you can shut the fuck up because usually when someone does a drum cover they have the actual band playing the song in the background. in this case it is not so shut the fuck up you swamp donkey
amazing cover! i loved the vocals.....i love streetlight, but kalnokys voice can get annoying, haha post more streetlight drums! ....next time don't block the snare with you head!
You're pretty good man. I myself have been playing drums for 6 years. Could you tell me what brand of tom heads and bass heads you use because they sound better than mine by a mile and I can't find any that I really like.
those are remo something that really helps is those remOs and proper tuning trust me it took me forever to be able to tune my drums the way i wanted them
Could you give me the chords that you used? My free trial for guitar pro's up and I don't want to drop a bunch of money on a basically a glorified midi program.
there is no Botar version, it was released after a call to arms, it could possibly be one of the Botar tracks on 99 songs to revolution, but we'll have to wait and see
they are all different. you are stupid if you think they are the same. they all have the same lead singer but one is catch is a highschool band, botar is acoustic.
Nice work there! For a moment I thought the backing track was another Catch 22 version of a Streetlight Manifesto song until I scrolled through the comments and found out you did it yourself. Really good job!
nope. streetlight completely redid the album "keasbey nights" by catch 22 because streetlight's singer tomas kalnoky was originally in catch when they recorded it. unless you already knew that but whatever.
Yes I knew that, but look at what REALMozard said "For a moment I thought the backing track was another Catch 22 version of a Streetlight Manifesto" So I got confused. haha
you're using the manu ktche snare correct? how is it volume wise ? And how well do you think it would work for the stuff i do, I do stuff like creed, alterbridge, three doors down. So i need something that cuts.
It's good actually, loads of power and volume, sounds best when you tune it relatively tight I think. Only bad points are the strainer which isn't that robust although i've not actually had any problems with it but it's pretty flimsy in comparison with other top end snares and it's also really heavy especially if you want the 14x6.5 version.
aw, midi bass and trombone, my only two most favorite instrument... right there with DRUMS of course- VERY nice bro. Hope your app was accepted, best of luck.
Haha yeah I really don't like my singing but it is what it is, it sounded really wired without it so I put it in. The horns are a bit limp because I'm a cheapskate recorded them at home instead of the studio : ) although if you listen to any track off everything goes numb they aren't much better
The trumpet, alto and baritone were recorded into cubase with an AKG condenser of some description, not sure what model, nothing too fancy, then a bit of compression and EQ. The tombone is a midi file I made using guitar pro, then imported into cubase.
The trumpet alto and barritone were recorded with a microphone into a computer via the sound card, then used a recording program to capture the sound (the one I used is called cubase, but there are good freeware programs that do the same thing, audacity is one). Guitar pro is a guitar tabbing program that also lets you create midi files which is what I used for the trombone, you have to pay for it but theres a good freeware program called powertab that does the same thing.
i just one know if you can show the all sheet music..

@ghillielover That's funny, because he clearly states in the description that his friend played the trumpet for it.

Otherwise, LOVE IT :)
NicksiPod 3 years ago
how did you record the horns?
keep7up 3 years ago
The trumpet, alto and baritone were recorded into cubase with an AKG condenser of some description, not sure what model, nothing too fancy, then a bit of compression and EQ. The tombone is a midi file I made using guitar pro, then imported into cubase.
ewanmcdonaldmusic 3 years ago
all i understood was midi file
keep7up 3 years ago
The trumpet alto and barritone were recorded with a microphone into a computer via the sound card, then used a recording program to capture the sound (the one I used is called cubase, but there are good freeware programs that do the same thing, audacity is one). Guitar pro is a guitar tabbing program that also lets you create midi files which is what I used for the trombone, you have to pay for it but theres a good freeware program called powertab that does the same thing.
Hope that helps :)
