Who is this woman? Why haven't I heard about her before? I'm ashamed I didn't know about her sooner. This is the sort of woman I want going after these companies and their nefarious tactics. Bravo lady! I hope she does this until all of these companies are reprimanded by the law. If we're all lucky, it'll happen soon.
Once again, it needs to be pointed out the phone calls would not be coming in if people actually paid their bills or at least paid off their debts. People who get these calls have only themselves to blame.
Obviosly some of the calls are innapropriate, but you can't blame the credit card companies from calling. People in debt end up paying their bills because they have too, not because they want too. The companies often have no choice but to be persistant.
I don't know who would be pointing that out when it's not true. I've known people who paid their bills but were eventually harassed by an out-of-control collections company because of the negligence of the employees that originally reported them to the collections company. When a company hires negligent workers that do not properly file FULL payments in the financial records then that company becomes responsible for the initial debt and the harassment that follows.
In your initial comment you said, "it needs to be pointed out the phone calls would not be coming in if people actually paid their bills..." I was just responding to that part of your comment. I just thought that you were seriously mistaken when you made that assumption. A lot of people are wrongfully sent to collections companies because there is no law in place that require businesses to provide evidence of non-payment. I only have 500 character but there's too much to say.
@buzzingbee25 The education is 10minutes of critical thinking. I have 5+ CC. "If you don't need it, don't buy it. If you can't pay it off don't buy it."
That happened to me one time. I was ill and they called my neighbor across the street trying to find my location, I was embarrassed, but I was able to pay my debt without the interest that acrued. They are relentless and I learned never to do the credit thing again. I realized there's no mercy when it comes to lovers of mammon.

Except this isn't about any case like that. This is a case where people didn't pay their bills.

Okay that's a legtitimate point, but for the cases in this investigation, what I said is valid.

I think people should be educated about using credit cards and about its possible consequences before any of this can happen
