  • i dunno if anyone's asked but can u get urself out of a straightjacket?

  • @mukigaman: Like taking off a t-shirt. Well, as long as the person putting it on me puts it on like a normal person would wear it. If it ties tight enough to pull my shoulders all the way together, I'm as screwed as anybody else.....

  • I'm only 148cm tall lol very short

  • I have CCD and so dose my younger brother we can both do that he's better at it than I am lol half of my collar is missing.

We both have been going to a childerns hospital for the last 5 years for our teeth... I've had total of 40 teeth removed, still got a whole set too, luckerly lol

  • @AussieBabe29 That's an amazing number of extractions! I only had one "extra" tooth that had to be cut out, but before the braces process could start, I had about 10 teeth taken out because my jaw wasn't big enough for them.

  • He was born a very severe case missing the majority of his skull, it has closed significantly tho, he only has unclosed space as big as a palm now. He just got braces last week and will have oral surgery this summer to remove all of the teeth up in his gums & shards of bone. I think mentally he has done very well with this, His father did not growing up. He has a half brother also with this condition. so 3 that we know of on his dads side ( his dad was adopted so we dont other linage.

  • My 13 yr old son has CCD , He loves to do his tricks, not only can he do the whole shoulder thing but he can do phenomenal things with his wrists and legs as well. He liked showing off when he was younger, however the school Principal was not so happy about it and made him stop doing it at School.

  • @jenajena Principals just don't understand.... Thanks for sharing your info, I'm fascinated by families with CCD, I grew up not knowing ANYBODY with it. My own family didn't know I had it until I was 12....

  • EFurrow ..dude i will be up all night thinking about this ...Guess CCD has its ups...lol..must learn how to do that beacause people always ask me to bring my sholders togather it would be nice to actualy make if funny insted of gross..

  • it's fucking scary...use it for Halloween emmett?

  • @Xgen20o4fan I even worked at a couple of haunted houses as a "plant". The guy in the gorilla or werewolf mask would grab me out of the crowd and dislocate my shoulder before yanking me into another room. Lots of screaming, me and the people watching. Only one of us was acting.....

  • why are all the comment so long???

  • @soulrebelggg I dunno. Is this one better?

  • Looks fun

  • @tyciol Hell yeah.

  • Nice. I've got CCD and like you have embraced this talent. Sure there were numerous oral operations, but it's great at parties and I wouldn't want to be considered "normal." Like you, I'm a spontaneous case; also did not pass it on to either of my two children.

  • We were devastated when doctor said our child has CCD last month. This link cools me down. Thanks to EFurrow and all others comments. n our case it is from biological mutation not hereditary!

I have following concerns and hope someone cools me down further!

    1) Did you receive CCD from ur ancestor OR did you pass this to ur children OR grandchildren

    (2) Is there any possibilities (or anyone explored) of fixing the shoulder bones surgically in the adulthood?

    Thanks in advance.

  • 1) I'm what's called a "spontaneous case", as 1/3 of all CCD's are. The other 2/3 are hereditary with a 50/50 chance of passing on the gene (unless 2 CCDers produce offspring....don't know if it's ever happened)

    2) My case wasn't diagnosed until I was 12, and at 17 I saw orthopaedic surgeons. They gave me the surgical option, and it sounded a lot more iffy than physical therapy. It involved bone grafts and bolts, and no guarantee. I prefer weight training......

  • Thanks EFurrow for taking time to respond to my concerns. I missed 3rd question in my last comment.

    3) Did you have teeth problems (child or adulthood)? If yes, what precautions you took?

    Thanks in advance.

  • If there is a serious drawback to CCD, it's the dental problems that can occur. I was on the lucky side, and it still involved minor oral surgeries and 6 years of orthodontics. No problems since! If you haven't checked it already, Yahoo groups has a CCD discussion board. Lots of parents of CCD kids share info there, great site!

  • As always thanks for sharing. Indeed, yahoo group has great info.

  • @blessedgift1973 I was diagnosed in 1971 with CCD. I have not had any surgeries associated with CCD. I have, however, had oral surgery in 1975 to remove all of my teeth because the secondary teeth never erupted. Other than having dentures, I'm basically a normal, short (4'7") female with no other disabilities from CCD. I inherited CCD from my mother who was diagnosed with CCD when I was in 1971. Other than dental issues, she also had no other issues with CCD.

  • @11katladytoo1, Thanks so much for your reply. My daughter is already 1 year old and she is lowest in the growth chart. Thanks for boosting the confidence and I am confident that my baby will grow up normal. She still does not have baby teeth as yet. How old were you when you diagnosed with CCD (just interested in the timing of dental surgery if needed)? Was your baby teeth (first teeth) normal? And, you had to remove all baby teeth with artificial one?

  • @blessedgift1973 I was eleven when diagnosed with CCD and 14 when I had the surgery to remove my teeth. My baby teeth were normal but would not "fall out". I still had all my baby teeth except the 3 that were pulled when I had the surgery. I had 2 complete sets of adult teeth in my gums but they would not erupt. I had 2 surgeries, 1 for the uppers and 1 for the lowers to remove all but 2. They also put in a staple to stabilize the jaw and secure the denture. I lost my last baby tooth in 2005.

  • I found your vid from a link on wikipedia! Hah, it's so funny! :D

  • This is too bloody awsome.. I do a bit of escapism, handcuffs and straitjackets, and if everyone could do this then my hobby'd be completely stale!

Has this condition ever led to anything negative (in a physical kind of way)? Apart from "getting stuck"? ^_^

  • Thanks for your kind words! The condition's main drawback (for me) is the trade-off of flexibility for strength. Lots of weight-training just to get up to average strength levels, but the bendy part comes easy!

Speaking of escapism, I used to do a trick where I'd get my hands cuffed behind me and take them over my head until they dropped in front.....I'm old now, I don't do that trick any more. More video coming soon!

  • I regret that my expression of self clashes so dramatically with yours....but we obviously come from opposite views on our shared condition. Simply, I refused to let the world tell me that I was "abnormal". I've explored the positives and as a comedian and performer, I have "outed" CCD to thousands of people, who now understand more about it. Maybe a moment of discomfort is worth the education.....And then maybe the next CCD kid won't have to go through what you (and I) did.

  • @EFurrow Hmmm, wonder where the original post that this answered went?

  • Yes, we can bench press normally. Every thing is normal, except the shoulders look all slopey.

Also, I have CCD. This is the first I have even heard of anyone else who has it. Cool deal.

  • Don't want to impose, but how much have you been able to bench, at what weight and height? I'm still very weak in those movements, and don't know any other CCD weight trainers for comparison. I can do 40-50 pushups in a set, not a couch potato, but not a Marine......

  • Can you bench press normally?

  • Yes. And abnormally as well. Sometimes I use a VERY close grip. I'm hoping to do a series of exercise videos for the clavically impaired, to be posted later.....

  • I also was born with CCD and can actually Bench 285lbs weighing only 132lbs. I have been on the world powerlifting team for the US. for the past 3 years. and still share the flexibility. but for me i have partial collarbones i am not missing them completely.

  • Like to communicate with you more! Friend me on facebook....Emmett Furrow.

  • WOOOAAAHHHH!!! I Have CCD TOO! I never thought I would be so excited to say that. This is such an awewsome thing for me to see such a response from people like me. If any of you live on the east coast I would love to meet up!

  • Which part of the east coast? I'm in the mountains of NC for the summer.....

  • O_o

His shoulders got stuck. That's inconvenient.

Wonder what else you could do without collar bones?

  • I've been training like crazy this past year, there'll be new videos coming over the summer!
