On my 09 ford focus i just fixed what ever ford messed up and my car can go 0 - 60 in 6 - 7 seconds still good for stock, but when i opened the engine air waves a bit i got good hp also torque so i went from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds no bad i agree, but i know a good trick i caught on my friends camera i went from 0 to 85 in 3.7 seconds. soon enough well try to find his camera he has long and ill place a nice vid for yall for proof
@brendon9431 Ford's Focus range are quicker than people give them credit for. I have a Ford Focus 2.0 - petrol, manual - and I can get mine 0-62mph in 7 seconds dead (cat-back stainless steel exhaust system and a k&n air filter without heat shield + breather).
Entirely stock, the car did it in around 8 and a little bit seconds - they're great fun to drive and the newer models have smaller engines and more bhp for the engine size, the 2012 Focus 1.6 ecoboost, that has 160bhp (I think)!

When u close the doors they sound like tin cans, the carpet peels out from under the door seal, the noises while driving in cold weather is just insane, its only got 40,000kms and its started to tick and make noises. I could go on an on. Don't buy North American. The quality is not there.

That might be true Si's have 135lb. feet torque so if its making 221 on the dyno the torque might be only 130 at the wheels they make all the power at 7000+ rpms which sucks.

dude 0-60 is 8 seconds....thats alot faster than my old car which was a 4.0 jeep. that was 0-60 10 seconds. this is just one second slower than the civic si 0-60.

if you ask me you should take it to a professional, unless you do it for a living. You would really have a hard time finding a radio that would fit in it, the stock one is the best for it.
There is a kit that replaces the whole center trim for the dash on ebay, I've seen the instructions and it seems straightforward.
The only thing is if you get a 2010 w/ sync you're going to have some useless buttons on your steering wheel if you put in an aftermarket headunit.
There's a writeup on focusfanatics[dot]com that shows you how to wire subs with your stock headunit, so that way you can still use your sync and not have to worry about prying eyes seeing an nice headunit.
I dont know it looks pretty tough to put a different one in, but i dont know why u would want to do that. The radio in it and speakers are pretty good.
Yea they are great stock. But im used to my old car that had my sub. would make my hair shake. but i found a way to resolve this issue. but it had some negatives i had to cut out my rear speakers and with an adapter from the amp i hooked up the wires and the sub works without changing the headunit :)
I know exactly what you mean!! I have a 2008 Focus and can't believe the shifts go so low. I know this is a werid shift but it explains what we mean. I have a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country, and it shifts to very high RPM's. Go to youtube, and type in 0-90 acceleration and you could see the video of high RPM shifts.
@93hondaman just picked up this same exact car from enterprise today, has 14,500 miles on it and the average miles per gallon on it so far is 35.6mpg.
i have the 09 ses manual... i think i could hit it in 8. if you want to destroy your clutch anyway... so thats why i dont do it a lot... but you can both launch it and slip it in between shifts. my tires always squeal when i shift into 2 when im really trying to pick her up.

I agree with you on that one. I'm a proud Toyota owner, but if I were to ever get something else, I'd consider Ford. My tax dollars already helped out Government Motors enough. At least Ford makes decent quality cars, and can survive on their own.

SYNC is amazing! I had a dealer demonstrate how it worked and it's incredible. There's nothing on the market like it. The new Focus overall is super nice.
Probably didn't. The steering wheel has audio controls for it to the right; the USB port is at the bottom of the center console and is clearly marked Microsoft SYNC. Once your iPod is connected, you press the appropriate button and it 'speaks', asking for your input about artist, track, etc. You give it a voice command, it locates and announces the selection--and the music begins to play automatically. Simply amazing.
Reliability? No question. Beyond this however, the car lacks that fun-to-drive factor. While fuel efficient, it lacks the responsive handling of, say, a Civic...which I should have purchased.
I'm in agreement; the '09, though still conservative, is far more pleasing to the eye. I think the sole change engine-wise over the previous generation is the VVI-I4 with increased horsepower.
I must say I disagree... I have the 07 ST it's a blast to drive, I have the audiophile sound system which is awesome, the suspension handles gr8, the car has the sap GFX so it looks gr8, the 2.3 rated at 151hp/154trq is also great and sound perfect (stock resonator delte.)!
I am very happy w/ the car and kind of disapointed that Ford went w/ a different design (keeping the same chassis of the older model) rather than just changing it over to the Euro model.

This car is slow to get going, but once moving at 20-30MPH, it will accelerate pretty damn fast up until about 85MPH.

On the 2.0L all the power is over 5000rpm, but the auto has such wide ratios that it throws the RPM too low after the shift..

Definitely needs a 5 or 6 speed automatic. Hint ( Fusions ).....
But it's still a decent car & would take it over a corolla or Civic.

09 focus is definitely not a piece of shit lol. pretty much an amazing car, i mean there is better i'm sure but it was 21 grand CDN with every option listed and i'm super happy with it like sync is sweet and everything, its pretty comfy and all. but yeah i guess its personal opinion in this case, plus you obviously must of drove the base model or something along those lines and that car differs from a fully loaded one, even in handling and steering i hear.

I have a 2008 Focus and my friend just got a 2008 Corolla. I'd pick my car over his any day. Same mpg, I have sync, and my car look much better that his. Inside and out. If you think the new Focus is a piece of shit, you're a fuckin idiot :)

SYNC is amazing! I had a dealer demonstrate how it worked and it's incredible. There's nothing on the market like it. The new Focus overall is super nice.

Probably didn't. The steering wheel has audio controls for it to the right; the USB port is at the bottom of the center console and is clearly marked Microsoft SYNC. Once your iPod is connected, you press the appropriate button and it 'speaks', asking for your input about artist, track, etc. You give it a voice command, it locates and announces the selection--and the music begins to play automatically. Simply amazing.

The rentals are usually the SE models you can get sync in it, but its optional, where the SES model is standard SYNC

The car isn't a piece of shit but it has to be the boringest car I ever driven.
My Geo is a piece of crap but it has personality.
This Focus was just souless. I always called my moms Corolla the boringest car ever but at least it wasn't offensive.
The Focus is just ugly, I hated the steering wheel,the gauges and the dash lay out was just ugly, it just sucks.
I didnt think a car made in 2009 can be that bad but I heard the new Avengers are even worse!

The redesign or the last body style?
My mom has the last body style. The car has no personality but even for an Automatic it gets 30-38 MPG and its been very reliable.

Reliability? No question. Beyond this however, the car lacks that fun-to-drive factor. While fuel efficient, it lacks the responsive handling of, say, a Civic...which I should have purchased.

Like I said very boring car. Just inoffensive to me because it isnt ugly and the dash layout is clean.
Even Toyotas XRS model of the Corolla is a bit boring. Civic SI, Mazda Speed 3 and Cobalt SS are all very good variations of their economy variants.
I think the new Corolla looks pretty nice though. Did they improve the engine in the XRS and S variants of those cars?

I'm in agreement; the '09, though still conservative, is far more pleasing to the eye. I think the sole change engine-wise over the previous generation is the VVI-I4 with increased horsepower.

I must say I disagree... I have the 07 ST it's a blast to drive, I have the audiophile sound system which is awesome, the suspension handles gr8, the car has the sap GFX so it looks gr8, the 2.3 rated at 151hp/154trq is also great and sound perfect (stock resonator delte.)!
I am very happy w/ the car and kind of disapointed that Ford went w/ a different design (keeping the same chassis of the older model) rather than just changing it over to the Euro model.
