@kevinpradipta Thanks. The way to start is to work on some easy blues and jazz tunes and try to improvise slowly. Find a good teacher who plays jazz too if you need some direction. Good luck.
Rory is a different kind of player. This is jazzy blues, and Rory played more of a dirtier blues. I would go so far as to say these guys are apples and oranges.
Thanks for your comment. Good ear for one of my main influences. In the second chorus of my solo I quoted the second chorus of Billie's Bounce. That's the only direct solo that I quoted purposefully, but our influences do come out in our playing subconsiously. Also, while this tune does appear in the Omnibook. I have done all of my own Charlie Parker transcriptions (see funky folk music on the web). I have done four transcription books on Charlie's music. --Eric
