  • Kyle Mooney on the bari sax

  • Best thing I have heard in ages!

  • I didnt know tweedy could grow a full beard ha!!!

  • @Diabeticuss fucking awesome...song and beard combo that is...

  • I miss Tweedy taking solos like this...his guitar sensibilities I have always felt are overlooked. Its a style that is very definitive and hard to duplicate. Nels goes off and does some very similar things, but his stuff is either floating around jazz ideas/concepts or strictly texture(which is brilliant!) whereas Tweedy's guitar sounds like a nervous breakdown...and I like it!

  • best band in america

  • Calling some singer 'god' cuts off any conversation about their music. If someone says that 'Lennon is god' then they are offended if you don't like a certain song. People get religiously fixated and won't hear you say a word against some singers. If a singer becomes "god" to certain fan, they see them as above critique or criticism. It also diminishes creatives in other fields like art or literature. If jack white is god, where does that leave Caravaggio and Tolstoy?

  • I do wish people could discuss the music of some singers without getting so offended. Tweedy is talented. He's got a different sound and has managed to do what he wanted without troubling himself with commercialism. Good for him. but I also understand how people might find the rabidness of his fan base rather bewildering. It's not the easiest music sometimes. People who like heavy rock might not like it. Okay. That's a matter of taste.

  • Whats all this about Wilco?

  • Wilco backwardfs spells Ocliw

  • Nice to see Jeff shred and Nels play the changes.

  • wilco rules. plain n simple

  • WHAT IS THAT FUZZ ON TWEEDYS GUITAR

  • @jfrizzlle zvex fuzz factory

  • @jfrizzlle - lovetone big cheese.

  • @jfrizzlle it sounds vintage, I'd think like a tube driver, germanium fuzz face. something dirty and amazing sounding.

  • who the fuck disliked this?

  • wow, that's horrible and disorienting editing...love the song though.

  • wilco is perfect

  • this reminds me of a Dead song

  • Comment removed

  • fantastic! Nills you sexy beast.

  • Yikes! He's quite the furry beast!

  • sounds like foxey lady in the beginning lol hendrix influence at all?

  • LOL

  • @genez0r aaah i understand

  • @joe44850

Where the fuck is JB? I can´t see him, Theres no JB!

  • @Bearclaw661 its a joke jeff tweedy is fuckin fat and he looks like jables

  • @Bearclaw661 JB is dead

  • I saw their CD at Best Buy and I wanted to buy it purely for their album design and cover art!! I didn't know their type of music til now which I'm not too fond of but holy crap their albums just look so cool! xD

  • pat sansone is a gay

  • if by jeff tweedy looks like God after he created stupidity in the world and was exhausted that he couldnt take it back and so wilco and wilco fans were created then yes i guess jeff tweedy is god. rock on like the 80 year old stones who suck by the way. congrats wilco ...you did it in less time than that. gary oldman looks like Zod ...kneel before Zod.

  • No people.

    Jeff Tweedy looks like GOD.

Rightfully so because he's a musical Zeus.

I'm taking bets that "Jesus Loves Me" was in this set.

    Rock On Mr. Tweedy!

  • @myndseye711 musical Zeus! I'm using that. :D

  • @myndseye711 OK, just because Tweedy has a beard, that makes him look like God? If God looked like Tweedy, he probably wouldnt have created you and me in his likeness because that just would have been downright mean and un-Christian like. Tweedy is one ugly and downtrodden looking mofo and actually looks WORSE since he kicked the pills. Tweedy is just the singer/songwriter for a middle of the road rock band, nothing more. Thats like me saying that Rob...whatever, from Matchbox 20 is God..right.

  • @PappyHab I realise you clearly have something against Wilco but after I saw them live last night, you must be either retarded or ridiculously ignorant to think they are a 'middle of the road rock band'.

  • @TheMeaningOfWithin OK, "retarded" and "ridiculously ignorant" are fighting words and I doubt you are equiped for a debate on music with me. I am a Wilco fan, I have seen them 9 times over the past 10 years. People who equate Tweedy and Wilco with God/Jesus like status are kind of ignorant on thier own terms, dont you think? Drives me nuts. Bottom line is ..yes..they are a good band but man, the "hip" media and thier even hipper fans have gone overboard entirely with there adoration and praise.

  • @PappyHab Why would I want to enter a debate on music with you? You and your views are clearly wedged so far up your own arse that no one will ever be able to change them. From your first comment, I'm still not sure how or why you know what God looks like. That's because you don't. And i'm also confused about how the 'hip' media have gone 'overboard entirely with there adoration and praise'. Tweedy himself has acknowledged Wilco are now seen as 'Dad-rock'.. How is that in any way 'hip'?

  • el final me hizo recordar alguna locura orquestal de los beatles. gran performance

  • Wow. Yeah this was back when he was... Well he had alot going on and his health wasn't a priority. Glad he was able to get his life right.

  • why does this look like it's from 1978?

  • @robinheil The clothes are soooooo -not- 1978. Trust me!

  • @robinheil >> Because Wilco is a unique band where they don't care about having that "look" as the latest industry craze. They focus on lyrics and music...not nec. the latest "look". They are almost anti-"look".

  • I love wilco. My friends all poke fun at me for liking them, but they are awesome.

  • they are great live

  • haha jeff tweedy look like a friggin caveman

  • Heck yeah, I freakin love Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

  • Wilco me on.....this shit kicks ass!!!! haha....everyone sucks...haha...this shit kicks ass!!!!

  • I was just watching Wilco on t.v. " Austin City Limits " and had to find them on here somewhere to find out more about them...great band.

  • Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is Kid A in flannel.

    which is a compliement. =D

  • @TheBensont123

I always describe Wilco as "country fried Radiohead"

  • @TDBrought brilliant!!!

  • Radiohead-Beatles-Blur in a mixer

  • @TDBrought lmao

  • @TDBrought No... REM.

  • @TheBensont123 I think all these songs i matched up have their own similarities... I am trying to break your heart - The national anthem (Progressive) Kamera - In Limbo (Ambient, Relaxing) Radio Cure - How To Dissapear Completely (Sad) War on War - Everything In Its Right Place (Dreamy) Jesus Etc. - Kid A (Quiet, Relaxing) I'm the man who loves you - Optimistic (Fast, Hyper) Motion Picture Soundtrack - Reservations (Long Outro(if thats a word lol), Sad) these are just my opinion
  • Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is Kid A in flannel.

    which is a compliement. =D

  • "if I could you know I would just hold your hand and you'd understand... I'm the man who loves you..."

  • Kinda reminds me of the Grateful Dead.

  • I love the sweet sounds of those Neil Young, kinda out-of-tune, kinda out-of-time guitar solos. Brilliant

  • this vid was uploaded on 2006 crazy !!!

and on the neil young note hell yeah didnt notice until now..

  • @nlights6

are you fucking high, I watched them in Halifax too, and it was a bomb ass show!

  • no way they just get better!

  • Wilco!

  • I still love Rock and Roll

Saw them in Milan, gonna see them in Ferrara.

    Greatest band on earth.

oh, and I love Michela, of course.

  • Good music. Reminds me of music from the "old days." 5*****!

  • Ha...seriously this makes me think of Neil and Crazy Horse so much...nobody can tell me Jeff and the boys weren't basically wanting to be Neil Young and Crazy Horse with this song...that rock sound mixed with that country vibe...haha, wow...

  • Wilco is awesome. I actually got into them from Neil Young...and hell it may be this song? Jeffy Tweedy's guitar playing is so Neil Young here lol....you can clearly hear his influence from the legend with his playing...

  • I love their different sounds and looks, they are great

  • I didn't know Peter Jackson was in a band.

  • Yeah, and it rocks! They're called Bilbo Baggins and the Hobbits.

Man Tweedy looks like crap in this video. It must have been right before he cleaned up. He looks younger now than he did a decade ago

  • well your entitled to your opinion. but come on, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is one of the most sonically ambitious albums ever, its a conglomeration of noise, folk, rock, more noise, beautifully weird lyrics and the most important part a beating heart at the center that speaks to so many people. theres a lot of shit music out there, but wilco have the 'arty rock' nailed down perfectly. their leap from small time country music to beautiful experimentation in the pop format is what makes them awesome.

  • its nice to see such a well thought out response here. shoulda expected to see it on a wilco video, i JUST got into them, you know who i think you'd like? shugo tokumaru. youtube him and listen to a song called parachute (good song to get into him with) and la la radio. la la radio, in my opinion,is one the best written songs ever. its like lesson in how to write a song with many parts, but with flow and taste, not one part of the song is there for "art's" sake.only because the song demanded it.

  • @lukeashmoore

    Phish

  • @lukeashmoore Ditto!

  • You're totally right man

  • I like all those bands u mentioned... and I love wilco... u clearly haven't heard all their work... it's like going off one radiohead album or song, every assclown loves creep and hates songs from kid A, but if u actually gave it the time it deserves you would see how great it really is

  • ...be quiet, listen

  • sometimes when people listen to music it changes them in a way that other people cant understand. this song isnt one of their best but it's a good one. to be honest, the bands that you listed (apart from Radiohead) aren't even half as good as wilco is or ever could be.

Jeff Tweedy has been through so much more than you could probably imagine, his lyrics and his music are signs of this. maybe if you would take the time to research the band and artists you'd understand. and yes it's all opinions.

  • woah wilco vs radiohead? now thats a battle for the ages. wilco and shugo tokumaru are the only modern bands that can stand with radiohead that ive heard. many other bands are great, but wilco, radiohead and shugo all have this...timeless quality. its a je ne sais quois that i think only becomes obvious 25 years after their biggest release. that and the people inspire, you know, the people who "get" it.

  • @Mighty Dragon

Dude please please please- go listen to all of Wilco's music, and I guarantee you will love them and appreciate them more. I listen to all the bands you listed, and like them, but Wilco is so far above them. Seriously. I mean holy shit Wilco is the shit man shit.. Oh and fuck you.

  • maybe their greatest song ...and too far apart

  • That's not Jack Black! That's obviously Zack Galifanakis.

  • Jerry!

  • @SuperJames2point0, you are a comedic genius, punk.

    Cheers,

    FrankC32

  • Jeff Tweedy is looking a little cro magnon in this one, ahahaha. Love this song though, brilliant intro.

  • Comment removed

  • they have to be one of the better live bands in the last decade or so.

  • Oh my God, I had no idea Jack Black was in Wilco.

  • @joe44850 well, now you know... :)

  • @joe44850

    Silly, that's clearly Jerry Garcia.

  • @joe44850

  • @joe44850 gibson sg and all!!

  • @joe44850 Didn't you see School of Rock? Never mind him, though, what about the blonde chick doing the simultaneous translation for the hearing-impaired? When did they recruit her? She wasn't in Uncle Tupelo and I missed her, was she?

  • @joe44850 That's one of the funniest things I've ever read...

  • @joe44850 when he has the hat on he looks exactly like dr. john from the piano instructional videos.. please tell what you think, cause the videos of him playing are great too, peace..

  • Great!they seem a group of legendary '60es!

  • Btw, I suppose we all "looked cuter in 1992ish". Just like we presently look more alive than we will in 2050ish.

  • epic win sir.

  • LOL I looked like a premature baby in 1992ish.

  • Unless we are newborns in 2050

  • This is my firat experience with them, and I think it's cool that you can hear their influences. It sounds a mixture of acid Sgt Pepper Beatles and Lynard Skynard.

  • Btw, he looked way cuter in 1992ish

  • I don't see a problem with the way he looks. Anyway awesome song and video. Wilco is great I hope to be able to see them live in person someday. Where I live not a whole lot of great bands show up.

  • It may be that Jeff Tweedy was... ehm... big back then but I didn't really know he could play the guitar like that.

  • Tinniy sound, great message, I'm the woman who loves you!! <3

  • Jeff looks like he won the Masters.

  • I didn't know Jack Black was in WIlco!

  • lol seriously. but that would be completelyawesome.

  • Then you do it,fuckin shit-kickin motherfucking caveman.

  • tweedy looks like an over weight geico caveman.

  • yeah, so what? he still rocks.

  • He looks like Jack Black

  • doesn´t him?

  • quero essa guitarra!!!

  • that distinct guitar sound is a Zvex Fuzz Factory.

  • any guitar nerds know which fuzz box tweedy uses for the intro/solo? luv that sound.

  • I wouldn't say that a guitarist who's knowledgeable on specific effects is a "nerd".

  • june 15

    its ganna be AWSOME

  • 2:21 Hot signer alert!

  • I think Jeff gave some pills to the horn section. or the sound guy. they sound fugly.

  • This is unfortunately when he was still wasted on pills after his first trip or two to rehab, Jeff is doing great now though and sky blue sky and the ensuing tours both wilco and jeff tweedy and friends (check out Sunken Treasure, Tweedy in the northwest) were beyond excellent they are getting better and allowing nels more freedom when approriate, he is the most underated guitarist in teh country in my opinion. Fuck keith urban Lol

  • Neither of them are underrated as far as actual guitar skill goes both of them are quite down on the totem pole imo ; /

  • great jam

  • I agree Nels Kline is an amazing guitar player. I think Jay Bennett and Tweedy had co-written some of the best material on that album. I think that if they kept jay bennett and nels kline the next 3 albums would have sounded better(in my opinion) I'm not a jay bennett fan. I think his solo work sounds like a cheap Mark Lannegan rip off. I just believe that jay and tweedy wrote amazing songs together.

  • Thanks for sharing a great song!

  • Is it just me or does the girl signing at 2:22 just melt your heart...

  • No dude, sorry .

  • Aw, she's a concert sign language translator. I've never seen one at any shows I've been to.

  • ditto,

i wondered if she tours with wilco or if she was there for everyone that Lollapalooza

  • There's an organization of 'em. They're usually at festivals like Lolla or Glastonbury. Once I read a story about one that had to translate a Muse concert. That must have been hard.

  • shes just trying to melt your heart

  • should have kept Jay Bennett. Should have fired the John Tesh look alike.

  • That John Tesh lookalike is Nels Kline, one of the modern gods of guitar. Waaaaay better than Jay Bennet.

  • Jesus, you're a thorough bastard. You get around, donchu?

  • I'm not really into Wilco, but i have to admit Nels Cline is among the greatests actual guitarists.

  • If Wilco is not your thing that's OK. There's plenty of other stuff for you to listen to, but just so I understand, what is better than Wilco in your opinion?

  • RADIOHEADDDDDD

  • I think they are great,I really do..but I just found them a while back..do you think they some of thier songs sound like other people stuff?..Kinks,Rod Stewart just to name a couple?..remember,I really DO like them

  • Huh... Ok... And do they actually play for a living?

  • holy shit, big love

  • Please. Anyone who doesn't think Wilco is amazing. Is lame dude

  • I've GOT to be the ONLY PERSON in the world who doesn't get these guys....and I've heard how amazing they are from people who's opinion I hold in high regard....I just don't get it...

  • Amazing? I don't really think so. Pretty damn good, but I wouldn't call Wilco AMAZING.

  • i think they are unique for sure but not for everybody. its music. youre gonna have varying opinions. i appreciate that you arent putting them down but simply stating that its not for you. i respect that

  • ha you go to berklee. me too. wow that sounds really gay coming out of my mouth

  • Been a long while since I graduated there...97 if my ruined mind recalls correctly.

  • whatd you study

  • drugs, and how to get laid when there was a 191:3 boys:girls ratio. No, I'm kidding Music Ed & Comm Arr. until i learned I hated teaching. I returned a music business major entrepreneurial track. I finished that in two semesters with some damage to my GPA rushing never gets you anywhere my instrument was guitar I blame that on half my problem I was barely passable when I got there. by the time I left I had improved...but I was ending where everyone else started.
  • i hear ya i play guitar too and i really hate it there. i just dont really like it...... oh well

  • I love when people post that a band isn't that good, on a video for the band- those people probably hang out in bathrooms to smell other peoples shite
