Man that 450r is a beast, a friend that I ride with has one and its nothing for him to blow by on the back wheel when the trail opens up. That trail reminds me of some of the ones here in Ky and Tn. We have a hare scramble course that I have done in the rain that will kick you rear. Good riding!

I am 14 years old, about 5'9, 170 pounds, very athletic, very strong, and have no experience at all with a dirt bike. I am looking for a new,not that expensive but really good bike. I am probably going to do mostly trail riding and really need to know what bike is good for me. Bud, your XR will go anywhere!! BUT it wont do it very fast. a good set of tyres are key in this sort of trail pac and plent of confidence. The biggest thing to remember is that if you start to loose balance or get bogged down, DONT back off, get hard into it and you will come right. As soon as you can get the $ and have learnt the basics of riding, get onto a CRF or RM125 if you want somethign a little cheaper. Becareful not to hang onto your XR to long, they are great to learn but thats it.

Shubiee, in NZ we have organized trail rides on private property or forestry, so no need for registered bikes. You can even take MX bikes w/o lights on the rides. Gotta love it!
