Hi could u give me some advice on positioning of studio monitors in your opinion, i guess u may tell me every type of monitor requires a diffrent placement due to acoustics and frequency responses. I own a pair of Alesis passive monitor 1 mk2s they are not brilliant but have done a good job for years for me. I recently moved house and have a diffrent studio setup, which in turn has meant i have repositioned my monitors , i notice some people place theirs horizontally , why ?? Thanks : )
hey im new to this please help, how do i connect the moniotros to the interface? there are options jack to jack xlr to xlr or xlr from the monitor jack to the interface or jack from the monitor xlr to the interface ?!?!?!?!?!?! please help
We are professional producers and recording engineers, and we suggest that this so called "expertvillage" outfit are really just a bunch of amateurs giving lots of not very bright opinions on a subject that takes years to learn.
If you are really serious about making your music sound good, and need real expert advice on equipment and recording, just go elsewhere, as most of these guys know absolutely nothing of value.
Dude serieus, this is the biggest bullshit i ever heard. "you need to be sure to buy monitors that are compatible with your interface" . THEY ALWAYS DO!! (atleast if you have a decent interface).
You don't explain in ANY way WHY monitors are nececary. Producers need monitors to mix an acurate mixdown. Without monitors you won't hear what you are doing. My advise? Leave this sort of advise to people who actually know what they talking about.
I'm surprised at how this video understates the necessity of good monitors, doesn't even explain why monitors are needed, why hi-fi speakers are unreliable for mixing.
I'm just getting started too, but expertvillage, you should have talked about the flatness of monitors, the increasing reliability with price.
£15/$20 speakers won't cut it.
I'm about to buy my 1st monitors, I'm seeking all the help and info I can get. I wanna do it right first time. I dont wanna outgrown them after a year.
