Own two Slashes myself and even one being stock that thing has taken a beating and for the money it is nice and also upgrades are afordable if you know what to do but also if you want somehting to thrash on and the maintance is easy for my tail to handle. Been beating on them for nearly two years and they still have let me down.
I wonder how traxxas came up with the name slayer. First thing that comes to my mind is my favourite musical band! Hey guys what do you think i should buy, the trx slayer or the Associated SC8? Looking at buying a sct nitro.
No not to be run in cold it could because it's waterproof and I said I do not recommend it because they break easily and it's had bout 5 hour run time and it's over a year old because it's always broke down
It cost around 400 bucks I do not recommend it to anyone first day needed a new motor with second motor throttle broke a year old and bought 5 hours of running time I do recommend hpi racing savage faster more durable and same price
It must take a lot of skill to pull off those kinds of slides and jumps without being able to directly feel what the truck is doing, like you can in an actual off-road race.
@MrMcflurry2 Hi MrMcFlurry2, thank you for your inquiry! This Traxxxas Slayer is excellent in the fields of durability and reliability. Hope that answers your question =)
does anyone know if revo front upper+lower a-arms will fit on the slayer? if so how much will the tires stick out from under the body? i know ill need driveshafts and push/tierods. i just want to go for the true prerunner look.
the traxxas slayer is good i mean good but maintaining those engines is just too much hastle thats y i like the traxxas slash because its electric and easy to maintain
i got this truck and its okay for a little bit, but after a while everything starts breaking, ive had it for 2 months and already spent over $150 in fixing it, its not worth it.
@butterbean559 I've had the slayer for over a year, and it is defiantly worth it, people said it is a shabby handler on road out of the box, and I will admit it took me a while to get used to it's handling on road, but the stock suspension isn't made for on road, its made for off road, so it can glide through rough terrain, which is why its a bit softer, I did some twinking on it, like sway bar kit, stiffer springs, etc., and I can now corner it at about 30.
@JVCnd4spd What springs and oil are you using in the shocks? I'm thinking 40wt front and 45wt rear. double black springs up front and double purple in the rear.
@butterbean559 I guess what will really make a difference is what you're planning to run the slayer in, if majority of the time you'll drive on road, then get stiff springs, but having on road springs on there while going off road, can cause it to act skittish off road, so its all about what you're going to use it for. the truck is great out of the box for off road.
@butterbean559 Hi Butterbean559, thank you for your inquiry! We recommend the Traxxas to many customers due to our customer's feedback that is very strong, durable and reliable. One of our top products in our industry line. Hope the information helps!
9, the tires are supposed to be small... Thats part and parcel of making them realistic. It's to scale. You can't say it's a bad design simply because you don't like the wheels' size.
