I'm afraid no, mining companies are getting permissions to explore you can't imagine, not only in Alaska but also in all regions of Canada. Open pit mining will left nothing, because the grades which are necessary for economic viability are low.

I saw bears just one time in my life in a zoo. But I don't like zoos because animals should be free and not caged. Every being has the right to be free. So I love your vids of wildlife.

Most rangers will tell you that Spray is more effective than guns. All the studies say so. But there are some bears that spray has no effect on. Still guns will not help 90 % of the time.
Just the other day I was talking to a fisherman on brown bears-smaller grizzly. I told him that I would use pepper spray to ward off a bear attack [He believed in using a gun]. I mentioned the effectiveness of pepper spray and he told me he fishes up in AK each year and about this brow bear that would hide in the bushes ready to grab a fish that was being reeled in. He said the ranger would spray it but the bear would just return to his bush to await another catch. It did not attack any humans.
Wouldn't it be funny if humans were tagged instead? An electrical jolt to warn humans not to get close. I guess that's not so funny to you or other attack victims though.
Another good video of wildlife in the wilderness. The bear seemed healthy and the vegetation too. And I noticed the bear is tagged. Most everything is monitored these days. I wonder why with the excessive tagging, monitoring & surveilance of wildlife, we don't or can't catch the poachers, the illegal bird traders, stop forest destruction, logging, etc.
