This is called a Claria, and it was an experiment fish created in Cuba and has now since then traveled all around. It is a very dangerous fish to the surrounding frogs, lizards even other fish and rats. It can survive up to 3 days out of water. It is also destroying the cuban ecosystem and its fauna.

It´s a plague, an invasive specie, eats anything rats, birds, frogs, insects, spaqhetti and meat balls , polar bears, anything...if it by any chance gets to a lake, pond or a river eats "all" the other species , I forgot they one to each other too.

This is a Claria. What makes it different from a regular catfish is the tail. Regular catfish have > shaped tail. Claria has ( shaped tail. The Claria is a lab-created fish that can make its way out of lakes, dams etc. It can survive out of the water for up to 36 hours. They can grow as large as a tarpon and will eat rats, chickens, ducks, etc. It was developed in Cuba and might have made it's way to S. Florida. I think, they are pretty creepy!!!!

This is another type of cat fish it's a claria, this ones have a rounded tail. This fish is illegal to have as pet and in the us they are ordered to be killed by freezing them. They cause gangrene because of a bacteria that they expel. The problem with this fish is that it comes out of the water, it breathes oxygen for about 3 days it can walk around and eat everything, rats, frogs, it eats other clarias, tilapias, etc...

It seems that when there is a lot of rain, the ponds rise and the catfish swim into the drains. When the water gets high enough, they come up through the sewer grates on the streets. Either that or they walk across the grass. Who knows, anything can happen in Florida.

This walking catfish could live up to 72 hours outside the water. It is dangerous to ecosystem and eat everything that moves around, like rats and other fish. It is illegal in US. If you have one, you must kill it or you are going to be jailed. It's not a pet. It is common in Cuba (known as Claria or Pez Gato) and have too many bacterias.
