  • Smack, is the check valve intended to allow outside air into the smack booster or allow the hydroxy gas to go out? I definitely want to avoid a smack collapse on my unit.

    Also, great job on your research!!! It's people like you who end up changing the world for the better.

  • There is no collapsing Smack unit anymore since the recent upgrades. Problem solved.

  • excellent disclosure!

    amazing though that 4 thousand fools have viewed this and only 5 people have commented and only 7 have voted..

    ya'll better rekanize!

  • Give it time, the word is spreading. It takes time, but once the ball is rolling there will be no stopping it.

  • Does the coating actually affect the performance? or is it just something that looks bad?

  • It didn't effect performance

  • I am new to this stuff but how about putting a makeup water reserve and attach it to the check valve? It would be like a radiator system on a car.

  • I'm already doing this - made it after the rally.

  • Could be Class 3 Rouge on the plates? This type of rouge is the high temperature reaction product of steam with the iron in the stainless steel forming magnetite. The reaction appears to take place in two steps:

    3Fe0 + H2O --> FeO + Fe2O3 + H2 FeO + Fe2O3 --> Fe3O4

    Where are you purchasing the wall plates from? I am having trouble finding 316-317L ss ones.

  • Is it possible that coating came from impurities leached out of the plastic pipe housing after continued heating from use for four days? Is That food grade plastic Or other?

  • It could be that. Not having a chemistry lab, I really don't know.

  • The impurities come from both the plates and the water used. Both of these equal the blackening effect. It's hard to stop it, but you can do it if you use distilled water and SUPER clean plates.

  • Already done - see Smack University videos.

  • Use citric acid or the like to clean your plates. Pour this acid into a boiling pot like you would use for spaghetti. Soak your plates in this solution on your kitchen stove top for about 30 min at 180 degrees give or take. This works incredibly well for cleaning the crap off the plates (crap ='s oxidation). No scrubbing is involved! It works like magic, totally hand off. Try it, let me know what you think. Just pour it, set it and forget it for about 30 min then rins plates with distilled water

  • Citric acid contaminates the plates. The only thing that should touch the plates after sanding is distilled water or pure alcohol.
