  • Did things got worse because you held onto your bike rather than letting it go?

  • Scks for such a bad ass bike

  • Too much lean angle/throttle combo. Sucks dude. Hope you healed okay.

  • oUCH!!!!!! that Beamer bounced around like a bouncy ball

  • hell yeah!

  • I believe I can fly...

  • That is true love, holding the maschine until the end...

  • I've got a go pro and was just wondering what you used to secure it to your tank?

  • Jennings GP ate you alive!

  • it's not as fun when there's no cars around REALLY PUTS THE EDGE ON!!!! only a small group of guys can appreciate that

  • Pulling a Ricky Carmichael.

  • Bloody hell! That was a hard impact!

  • Saddest thing I've ever seen in slo mo. I feel your pain buddy, I've wrecked every bike i ever owned. It's what they're made for. Toys. :)

  • 0:56 clocks "ouch...... :("

  • If I'd have to bet, I'd say you were probably just a fraction to heavy on the throttle compared to your tires/track/whatever. There are so many variables that it is really impossible to say "this is why you crashed:", IMO...

  • poor bike :-(

  • Jesus, the front tire looks like it hit about a foot or so above your head!

  • It sounds like you're okay, but still, hope you're okay. Crazy that the camera kept recording so nicely. Gave a good view of the disintegration of the bike.

  • I was greatly amused to see how the action camera was about the only survivor of this catastrophe. Motorcycle disintegrates, rider flounders, and the recording device keeps on faithfully recording. Most amusing. Sorry to be smiling at your misfortune, but it's not actually.

Are you certain there wasn't some sort of tire problem? You look so smooth in those turns, and then it all lets go. "Every which way but loose".

  • high performance bikes. loooooow performance riders.

  • Na allego.pl za dwa miesiące jako nie bite po pierwszym właścicielu z Polski

  • rofl this rider is HILARIOUS

  • don't give up...... i'm talking to the bike.

  • W O W that camera didn't budge lol... but no really, killer crash.

  • I feel bad for you and the bike. Keep riding though!

  • painful to see a great bike like that break in to pieces, speedo was still working though :), hope the ankle fixed well

  • Good camera!

  • Watching that bike eat dirt made me cry :'(

  • I was sad when you laid the bike down.

  • @FlowDesign82 Haha! Yes I am a hypocrite... Honestly i was doing that on purpose... It was 6 a.m so I was a little cranky.. Haha! But yeah those tips along with practice makes a huge difference... Professionals are the best tips you can get..

  • Basically do not listen to either one of these top two comments... Watch: Twist of the Wrist DVD, Read the Book, and Go to a School.. Never listen to anyone other than professionals.. Street riders can't be trusted..or even amature track riders... I mean think about it... Learn from a track day A group rider? or a National Champion??? hummm??

  • @SDkawi6 So you truly believe you can learn riding a bike (fast) by reading a book or watching a DVD? Hmmmm, you go do that and then crash some bikes ok?

Of course you have to go to a school! First for on the road and getting your license, then if you like, go learn at a trackday with lessons. It's the only way to learn it properly.

  • @FlowDesign82 Yes i do recomend a book. After watching your videos I could critique a lot like the Aweful throttle control through turns, coasting through turns, the reason you crashed that daytona 675 going like 30mph... But its not worth the i'm better than you, you better than me discusion.. You know superbike race school (to get a race lisence) is a classroom setting right? Clearly you didnt know that... So there's really nothing else that needs to be said..

  • @SDkawi6 Dude, what a hypocrite are you? First starting off saying you don't like the way I drive and then saying you don't want a discussion like that? Are you diagnosed with schizophrenia yet?

On-topic: I'm not saying I disagree with you, just saying maybe a book or DVD might help with tips, but in the end you all have to apply that stuff on the road or track and advance from that point on. You can't LEARN it from a book, you learn it by doing it and progress from there.

  • @FlowDesign82 lol.. Trust me I know i'm a hypocrite.. lol.. It was 8:00 am i was a little bit cranky.. lol.. but you do see my point from my vid.. coaching and practice will get your skills right :)

  • @LarzKiteSurfer please tell me where your bike is now...

  • After reading the description all i can say is, RESPECT :)

  • si la hibieze soltado desde antes nadamas se hubiera barrido

  • that looks like it hurt

  • Man... Cars have it easy :(

  • OMG!! Is the track okay??

  • At least you still got the brake fluid.. :D

  • imposibile reagire,lo so

  • Damn the bike was fuuuucked. Good thing all you got was a busted ankle.

  • ouch

  • Damn that sucks

  • ahhh fkkkk that looks painful to watch!! this is going to be my next bike!!! im sorry to see your bike go down so hard :(

  • Gravity, Its always pulling us down...

  • felaket....

  • Nooooooooooooooooo

  • he counter steered into the fall once the back tire started to slide

  • @surfingrools Do a search for "Casey Braking/Lorenzo Onboard Sachsenring 2011", the green bar under "Yamaha" at the bottom indicates throttle, to the left is a red bar indicating brake pressure.

On many corners you will see Lorenzo getting on the throttle quite early, clearly before he reaches the apex. You are always on the throttle, or on the brakes. There is no coasting through corners. On the throttle does not mean full throttle or even accelerating for that matter, it's to maintain speed

  • Comment removed

  • @HersheyWC If you release the throttle mid-corner you change your bikes geometry (frame to swingarm) and risk a nasty result.

  • @HersheyWC It's not to maintain speed so much as it's to keep the suspension loaded and the chassis balanced. I agree with you though about the coasting part.

  • @HersheyWC

Yup, I couldn't see either what caused you to lose the rear. Smooth circuit, steady ride, you seemed to be riding pretty well. Except, of course (as pointed out) the motorcycle is most stable under power. A road racing motorcycle is practically never doing anything except accelerating / decelerating, by definition, except perhaps in very long, tight sweepers which have become so rare in this era of detestable Hermann Tilke-designed 'slot-car courses'. Under power = more stable.

  • @surfingrools It is all dependent on individual corner dynamics, on a tight short hairpin you will charge in hard on the brakes (it's BRAKES by the way, not BREAKS), trail brake deep into the corner and pick the bike up on the throttle. On longer sweeping corners singe or dual apex you will drive TO the apex with maintenance throttle and from the apex apply throttle gradually, reaching full throttle at the exit mark of the corner. P.S. I am not a "little" man, I could likely lay a thump on you.

  • @HersheyWC Whats your best time at Jennings?

  • Comment removed

  • the sound of metal and plastic sliding down the road, sends shivers down my spine :(

  • At least the camera was fine.

  • Hope you're good to go bro.... That crash was niiiice.

  • :-(

  • Dude, I thought you had the low side ridden out. RIP BMW. You can't catch all the corners perfect but you can try. Hope your ankle has healed. VtR1000 salutes the fallen!

  • Ohh man hochmut kommt vor dem fall oder wie war das ^^ schade um die maschine und hoffentlich ist dem fahrer nix passiert =D

  • shit man :(

  • hahahaha, next time when in corner, dont throttle up yet, just maintain throttle, until u are exiting... good luck...;)

  • que paso le salio un derrape sin darse cuenta. wauu se le fue el carenado. le va a salir caro el estrallon al tipo

  • sad !

  • good hanging on :)

  • The bike is fucked but thank God the camera is still working

  • at least the GoPro survived! :D Man this camera is fucking indestructible! ^^ I would like someone to do a blog on how to destroy a GoPro :D :D

  • Damn.. The front got smashed :(

  • broke my heart

  • Bum deal about the crash dude.. On a lighter note what a wicked fuck'n camera haha is it a go pro?

  • Rule number 1 - Find Talent before expensive bike, Throttle before the apex is a no no. hold your grips like golf clubs and relax, not like a crow bar to beat your wife with.

  • @surfingrools You've never heard of maintenance throttle, clearly. Throttle before the apex is a yes yes. I can't tell what he did wrong in this video because he slowed it down, a real-time video would help determine the issue. P.S. selling all of your stuff and giving the money to charity is noble, but stupid.

  • @HersheyWC Nevermind, I see what happened. He CLOSED the throttle causing weight to shift forward and lost traction on the front tire. Gotta work on being smooth!

  • @HersheyWC The rear doesn't spin around when you loose the front, he closed the throttle after the rear let go. Lucky he didn't high side. could've ended worse. So far you 0-2 little man. Keep trying though

  • @HersheyWC Thank you.. Exactly.

  • Comment removed

  • @HersheyWC You clearly don't have the slightest clue about proper corner entry.

Smooth entry speed into a corner requires no throttle, you carry enough entry speed after down shifting you should actually be trail breaking all the way to the apex BEFORE getting back on the throttle for smooth exit......your advice is going to get someone seriously hurt. Throttle before the apex.....you might as well put a giant puddle of oil mid corner and get ready for the fireworks!

  • @surfingrools No throttle during corner entry? WTF are YOU talking about? You always use neutral throttle, meaning enough throttle to keep speed consistent during entry before the apex. After the apex obviously you gradually put on the gas.

  • @khyoon14 Then you're not entering fast enough derp derp

  • @khyoon14 Here stupid, Go watch Melka running a 1.19 and listen to him enter turn one and listen for the deceleration all the way to the first apex marker before he pickes up maintenance throttle to double apex, (since T1 is a double apex), in a normal single apex turn you enter fast enough to have enough through speed to not use the throttle till its time to leave the corner hence TRAILBREAKING when you stop be a slow pus wus. Get your game right son

  • @surfingrools Stupid? Son? Okay child, lets keep it professional here. Back to the topic. I was simply stating that during entry, before the apex, neutral throttle is suppose to be used to sustain speeds. In another words you DO NOT chop(cut the gas) the throttle during entry. Simple as that. You keep saying ZERO throttle during entry. This is absolutely wrong as it can upset chassis balance and cause you to lose front tire traction.

    I understand what you're saying.

  • @khyoon14 This guy was on his breaks before he even crossed the starting line (WTF) and was back on the gas before he even gets to the first marker. REALLY BAD way to teach people how to ride. shouldn't touch his breaks until ATLEAST the third break marker, down shift and roll through to the first marker and ONLY then get back on mid corner maintenance throttle. what caused him to crash is having no idea what he was doing.

  • @surfingrools HersheyWC isn't saying that you gas it before the apex. He is saying you use maintenance throttle(his words)/Neutral throttle(mine)... I said it in my other post and I'll say it again, YOU DO NOT CHOP(cut off the gas entirely) THE THROTTLE DURING ENTRY.

We're done here. You do what works for you. In the end you have two people advising against you.

  • @HersheyWC Correct...

  • You thought you were doing everything right? Riding off the side of the tires is not doing anything right at all, especially when exiting T1. Thankfully you had to have been doing no more than 70mph.

  • Comment removed

  • hey - dont they have traction control?

  • DUUUUUDE!! Let go of the bike! (bummer about the ankle tho)

  • noooo! shit!! shit!!! bad bad!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...and fuck that is just so f.. fast that bike! damn!

  • if you don't mind my saying, too much lean angle. If you get your butt off of the seat and lean into the corner with your shoulders you won't need that much lean.

  • @Duey7822 I was wondering about that. I wish I could have seen his body position. In these cases, sometimes all we can do is speculate, but that lean angle looked pretty aggressive from the camera view.

  • That was brutal :(

  • stop the video at 0:42 damn!! The impact near his head!

  • My worst nightmare....................

  • Test new Camera Quality Camera OK :-)

  • OMG!!!! Awesome! what camera ???

  • hey mate, glad you made it out of this accident sorry to watch it really. the reason you have crashed is too much lean angle and at that much angle you closed the throttle which ended in transferring the weight in front tires and loosing weight in rear tire which lost the traction resulted in lowside.

  • if i were you ,i would be destroyed......literally.

  • I'm watching your tach. You were accelerating through the corner. Too much power. Too little rubber. She will drop every time. Try it again. Steady power through the corner.

  • you closed the throttle. never a good idea mid corner, generally opening it is the better option

  • at least it happened on a track! :)

  • Hahahah its like a movie-scene when he has to let go of his loved one in an actionscene like:

0:35Mc:Let go of me! We´ll never make it alive together!

0:36 Driver: NO! I´ll never let you go againg!!!

0:37 Mc: Listenn to me!! You have to!!

    0:38 NEVER!!!

    0:40 Sorry master...........

    0:41 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Lol ^^

    Driver @

  • @brikos LOL!!!!

  • i feel you pain

  • Everyone knows it... a life to buy this bike and a few seconds to destroy it..!

  • Jesus.. .Let go of the bike... but awesome vid.

  • damn he stayed on pretty long

  • You have to take your hat off to this guy, he had some pretty big balls to hang on as long as he did. Glad to see some old fashioned courage :) Terribly sorry about your bike though

  • the only thing that survived was your GoPro !! thumbs up from me :)

  • so you didnt sell everything?

  • That was AWESOME!!!!

  • Too much throttle at too much ungle... no point accelerating hard at an angle as you it doesnt translate to forward motion

  • let go of the bike dummy

  • Ouch , looked pricey. Street Tires?

  • Caramba q estrago!!

  • porque não soltou a porra da moto? ela poderia ter virado na sua cabeça...

  • you where going to low causing your bike to slide on its footsteps? (simoncelli style)

sux.. good your such a generous man! take care.

  • Wow! I could see the $1000's counting up with every rotationt! Glad you're safe dude!

  • I cried.

  • Damm that sucks man, u should of kicked that bitch out, but at least it was just ur ankle

  • what kind of camera you using?

  • shouldn't the traction control have sorted that out?

  • Starting @ 0:31.... let go leettt goooo.... ouch ouch ouch ouch ooowwww man!!! Trying to figure out why you held on so long. When bikes are you passion that's the risk you run like with any other sport or hobby... if selling your toys is what's going to make you feel better then sell but have no regrets

  • All that money wasted for nothing, Bikes are Too Expensive to waste that way! Sorry for what happend, but is true! Is Really a Pity! I will Very Happy if you really do what you mention on your coment: " I will be selling all my bikes and kites and giving the money to the poor." Thank you for that!

  • that'll buff out.

  • Loosing money, crashing , risking your life ... thats the price for the pleasure of riding. I've been in 8 accidents already, close to death a few times , and im planing my third bike for this summer.

If you can deal with all of it , just for that moments of trill , feeling the wind , the speed , the music the engine plays , that slow rides in the sunday mornings , if you think when you're riding your bike is an extension of your body ... then , dont stop riding.

  • @evermau ive had 2 crashes, every time i tell my self i will be more sensible riding, and i do so, as im kind of scared of crashing again. then after like, a week, i start riding like a lunatic again :s

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • At least the tach and brake fluid reservoir are salvageable.

  • maybe a bit too much counter steer?

  • Expected a big high side there!...

  • A bit too much power, too early while cranked over...?

    Shame.

    Great video though.

  • Aaah man! That sucks!

  • noooo mames

  • Looked like you just rolled on the gogo juice lil too much ! Nice drift ....sorry bout the bike ! Go-Pro cam ?

  • Wow, that sucks man. That BMW was badass though.

  • Rolling on the throttle and increasing lean angle at the same time hurts.

  • thought you were riding fine, how did you come off?

  • My heart broke at 43 secs :(

  • @seb23490 and 46 secs ..

  • filaraki eisai trelo timoni panathema se!!!

koita mhn moy zitiseis kamia volta to v-strom...

  • @mctalas άστα διάλα ρε. τράβα να μαζέψεις το cbr σου που έχει σκορπίσει

  • @zefkas ξαδερφακια είστε ρε ??? LOL!!

  • Ouch...shoulda let go

  • Damn, painful to watch. All that matters is that you are ok, sorry bro...

  • too much throttle whilst on the edge of the tire

  • ooooohhhh noooooo what a pity

  • I disliked not only because it's hard to watch such a beautiful bike get crashed, but also because I don't agree with the decision to sell all of your toys and give the money to children in africa.

If you absolutely have to sell all of your toys, you should support your home country's economy and donate to a good cause right here in America. We have people here that are in dire need of help also. But I like where your heart is at.

  • @Avus95 I am pretty sure the third world children will be needing it more

  • @red33m23

Not at all. We have needy children and people here who need it just as badly. Think globally, but focus your efforts locally. That's the best way to make a difference.

Many people (like yourself) are largely unaware that we have groups of people right here in America that are living in "third-world country" conditions while the rest of the USA turns a blind eye.

    Think Globally, Help Locally.

  • @Avus95 I am not a US resident(just to inform you). The problem is that many countries around the world do not have the economic power to support their poor citizens at all. US on the other hand is home to many rich men, from which the goverment can take money(through taxes) to invest and help the poor. I don't think Zimbabwe can do this though.

Also isn't the phrase "Think globally, help locally" kind of ironic?

  • 9 dislikes is 9 track cleaners upset

  • Why did that even happen he wasnt even leaned over far and that thing has traction controll?

  • @1488skinxhead1 Leaned quite far over 45 degrees enough to touch a peg down lessening the grip of the tyres seems most likely and it maybe hard rubber, shit happens when you least expect it

  • 0:40

    Painful!

    Anyway, wutt happened?

    Cheers

  • What kind of camera did you use? Good quality, too bad for the Beemer, good luck with recovery

  • That actually pained me to watch, theres nothing worse then the sound of a bike on tarmac.

  • No me uqiero imaginar el coste de la reparación

  • Gheez, it "hurts" just to see those parts smashing into the ground. I think you were lucky not to be tossed over the bike, and have the classic highside. But glad you´re ok.. Cheers, mate!!

  • :'(

  • SOrry Bruder aber scheiße gelaufen !!!!!!aber trotzdem supper video !!!!!!!

  • were you hanging off the bike at all? I can only guess that you were completely bum on the seat and not hanging off like a baboon? If so that was way too much lean angle yet had you hung off, the bikes tyres would have had far more of a contact patch.

  • That was really painful to watch! (a bike big fan)
