I assume someone added the laugh track to mock them; it's more annoying than successful. Anyway, I've always hated those "hole in the ceiling" can lights. They're ugly, distribute the light unevenly, leak air and sometimes even start fires. The fluorescent perimeter light is cool though. Thanks for posting it!
@lrd9999 - it hasn't really been 'added' as such. This clip was shown in the UK on the long-running '... on TV' series back in the 80's, a show that showed foreign TV clips at a time long before the internet/YouTube. It's studio audience laughter you can hear. For more info on '... on TV' search for '...on Television' at wikipedia.
@atariman1988 I just saw that, most of those clips must have been interesting, a few looked a little too interesting. I wonder if something else was going on in the studio while this clip was shown; Ron and Nancy just don't seem that funny here. Whatever the cause, it reminded me of the (U.S.) shows from the '50s and '60 where they sometimes overdid the laugh track; a sure way to ruin an otherwise good show. I wonder if they went to studio audiences later as a reaction to such disasters.

I haven't seen this in years. The laugh track makes it better.
